God died for James Holmes (1 Jn 2:2) and can redeem him, only if he would repent. The Apostle Paul persecuted the church and committed many crimes against others more severe than that of James Holmes. If he is hearing voices than demonic influences are at work within him. If not then he committed his crimes without the aid of them. For me I am thankful for God's grace in his redemption of myself who once was lost but know am found, and I was blind but know I can see.

1 Jn 2:2-He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
Rm 10:13-whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

We do that he attended a church, was active in their youth camps..

he is a sinner, like we are were, and only the grace of God can reach and save him now!

GOD died for no one. Jesus died on the cross to provide a road to redemption, but God cannot die.

    Cheers,

    Jim

There are spiritual consequences and temporal consequences for our actions. The are not always in parallel. Jesus' finished work on the cross can forgive any sin except Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. His sin in the Lord's eyes is not better or worse than the things I have done in my life contrary to living a Holy life.

However, God also ordained existing govenment and law. I suppose if the Lord willed it, He could see James Holmes was pardoned. My guess is that will not happen. My guess is also that he did not give a second thought to the consequences before he pulled that stunt. Lifetime behind bars is a long time, and so is sitting on death row for twenty years awaiting execution.

I have not yet, (and thanks for the post so I do), I will pray for his salvation, but that has nothing to do with a get out of jail card.

He may indeed be devilishly evil.

Or, he may have broken brain and be in need of our pity.

I was just getting ready to post the same thing. It is incorrect to posit that Jesus' divinity died on the Cross. Error-laden Christology leads to error-laden theology.

People know what I mean. Jesus in his human nature died on the cross for the sins of the whole world (1 John 2:2). Those that repent and turn from sin and place their faith in Jesus are saved. Many will reject him, but the elect will not. I believe that Christ died for all of man, but only a few will respond. I am not going to get into a argument over limited atonement as that was not the point of this thread.

If..at any time, this guy experiences God sent conviction, and sincerly chooses to place his faith in Christ, he will be as saved as anyone else is.

And I hope he does get genuinly saved.

I seem to remember hearing rumurs of that sort regarding Dalhmer...but you never really know when its just rumurs. I always hope those rumurs are true.

please carefully return to my post and read what I've written. What part of Christ died?

Are we really comfortable saying that the Trinity (I.e. God...which is terribly ambiguous) died on the Cross?

It was well reported that Dahmer converted before his death in prison.

    Well..that is good news indeed.

Praise God. I'm glad he came to his senses, before it was too late.
