    My one is going on 18 years old and the hospital we went to used the same type of system.

    I didn't realize it wasn't standard in all hospitals. That's a shame. I'm guessing that some may not be able to afford the installation. :(

    Nobody could even get INTO the maternity section without staff letting them into the section and asking who they were and why they were there and who they were seeing and confirming it, then having them wait while they contacted the mom. That is something anyone could afford. A lock on a door and proper identification before they enter.
