    Ps 65:4

4 Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts: we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.

The word choosest is the hebrew word bachar:

    to choose, elect, decide for

    a) (Qal) to choose

    b) (Niphal) to be chosen

    c) (Pual) to be chosen, selected

And this being chosen is what causetst one's approach in faith, hence the faith of God's Elect. The word causets is the word qarab:

to come near, approach, enter into, draw near

    a) (Qal) to approach, draw near

    b) (Niphal) to be brought near

    c) (Piel) to cause to approach, bring near, cause to draw near

    d) (Hiphil) to bring near, bring, present

The person is being passively brought near, being caused to approach, its the working of God in a person both to will and do of His good pleasure, its the effect of the Cross of Christ also Eph 2:13.

This is but God calling whom He will into blessed fellowship with Himself and the Lord Jesus Christ 1 Cor 1:9

9 God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

And this is also called the Election of God of which He is the Sovereign cause 1 Thess 1:4

4 Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God.

Acts 5:32 We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him."

"...the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.”

John 14:23 Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.

Acts 15:8 God, who knows the heart, showed that he accepted them by giving the Holy Spirit to them, just as he did to us.

    Believe and obey.

The BIG error by every denomination is the gut feeling by lost every member that THEY are saved (elect) and that most every member of their congregation and denomination is saved (elect) and that everyone outside their congregation (denomination is NOT saved (elect). This gut feeling is taught by every denomination for reasons of command and control (e.g. money) because the congregation (denomination) can't pay the bills with an honest preaching of God's grace.

Religion and politics always go together so a parallel situation is this presidential election. "Real" Christians should be arguing that it doesn't matter which party wins because God is in control of both parties. In practice, I might be the only one on BB who has even hinted that God is in control of this election, in control of every situation including the Iran-Israel situation.

None of you - especially "reformed" BB members - seem to trust God. You all have to fight God's battles for him because God can't handle the situation by himself. You all think fighting God's battles for him is more important than loving God and neighbor. You PREFER to trust in horses and chariots as the Orthodox Catholic Church has always done and Israel before us has done.

Jesus chooses those he will live with, and I just gave scripture showing that Jesus gives the Holy Spirit to those who obey, to those he accepts.

Humans had nothing to do with Jesus paying for our sins, but Jesus chooses those he will live with.

Believe and repent, prepare the way for Jesus in your heart.

Jesus/God regenerates people but subsequently does not want to live with him? As Whatshisname noted, the door lock of Hell is on the inside.

Humans had nothing to do with Jesus paying for our sins. Jesus paid for our sins all by his self.
God made the plan before the creation of the world that Jesus would die for our sins.
We have a choice to love God or to love sin.
All those who hear the message and believe they can be the person whom God lives with in Spirit.

Abraham SHOWED that he was already reconciled to/saved by the Grace of God... he was justified apart from his works, and before even getting circumcised!

True, but that will not change God's love for us and undo the Gospel.

    Ps 106:5

That I may see the good of thy chosen, that I may rejoice in the gladness of thy nation, that I may glory with thine inheritance.

The writer here is not talking about ethnic israel, but God's Chosen in Christ, which is God's Inheritance in His Son Eph 1:4

4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

Then later in this same epistle Paul says of these Chosen ones this Eph 1:17-18

17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

This is what the writer of Ps 106:5 meant !

What does "paid" mean to you"

    >God loves his elect as being part of his family, while he loves all others as his creation, but NOT (sic. "as?") His children!

Then God is a "respecter of persons."

Before Abraham was circumcised God told Abraham to go to a place, Abraham obeyed and went. What do you think would have happened if Abraham did not obey and go?

Unless he had trust/faith in God and His promises made to him, would he had even gone anyways?

His faith was MADE COMPLETE BY WHAT HE DID.

James 2:22 You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did.

    Believe and obey!

There are many people who say they believe and do not obey!!!!

    Just look at the Catholics.

Look at yourself are you one of them?

Look at your friends and neighbors.

Look at the people in your church.
