This post is dedicated to all the people around here that lament that the media are lapdogs for Obama. Check out this link:

Yes, the media is comprised of left-leaning or out-and-out leftists. Yes, they typically write with a slant favoring the left. However, I've seen a lot of elections and it's right about this time of the election cycle and throughout the next couple of months when the media seems to feel guilty, maybe contrite and they actually start playing fair.

No. I've noticed that the media reins in their bias during the two months leading up to the election.

I sure haven't noticed that reining in. Somebody should have told Chris Matthews about that 4 years ago while he was getting a tingle up his leg listening to Barry speak.

Yeah, well, Chris Matthews said that in March 2008, 8 months before the election. Since I said the media plays fair the last two months of the campaign leading up to the election I'll simply ignore your post. Thanks for trying though.

    From the link:

And this is what obama is counting on - the 50% who get the freebies and pay no tax will get is vote.

It is refreshing, although somewhat shocking, to see this Newsweek piece and cover. I about fell off my chair when I saw it on FNC today.

One piece, however, compared to all of the fluff pieces in the media about the obamas, hardly make me think Newsweek is having a change of heart or feeling guilty. Maybe they are hedging their bets??

I've noticed it too, although it seems to be mostly in television media.

I think what is going on is not that anyone is feeling guilty, but that they have already made their case for their choice by that time and now they are trying to portray the race to be as close as possible, with two viable pairs of candidates, to add drama and boost ratings. It makes better television "news" (entertainment) to have a tight race than an obvious landslide for one pair of candidates.

I think it really comes down to making money from advertising revenue.

Yep, don't be fooled, it's all about money. The reason the media is shifting "slightly" to the right is because they are losing viewers and subscriptions. They are as liberal as ever, but the public isn't buying it anymore.

I think you're on the right track, but I believe it has more to do with the campaigns extracting promises for positive spin stories because the campaigns are buying advertising.

Think about it, the campaigns have already bought ad placements on the networks up through November 5th. In return for spending their money I would guess they extract promises of positive editorial pieces as well.

That was something Michelle Malkin pointed out with several examples in her article today, left leaning bias in the MSM. Will be interesting to watch the Presidential and VP debates. The media personalities asking questions have typically been left leaning.

Yep, another assertion. Show us all the folks around here who lament that the media are lapdogs for Obama.

Another assertion. Gosh one would think that you think it's true just because you make a dubious claim.

Yet another assertion. Why should anyone trust what you've seen in elections? You watch all the media outlets?
