TAMPA — The lawyer for Ron Paul’s Oklahoma delegates to the Republican National Convention threatened Mitt Romney and the Republican National Committee on Monday to withhold votes for the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, according to the Oklahoma GOP chairman.

The Paul attorney told the RNC's Committee on Contests that unless it seated the Paul delegates instead of those elected by the Oklahoma GOP, Paul supporters across the country would withhold their votes from Mr. Romney.

“That this lawyer turned a rules challenge into political blackmail was thuggish and certainly not the way to restore the first principles of this republic, which is the professed aim of the Ron Paul revolution,” Republican National Convention Vice Chairman Solomon Yue told The Washington Times

The RNC are thugs who have continually broken the rules, manipulated the system, and have been caught cheating multiple times. It is not a "rules challenge." The Oklahoma Republican Party BROKE the rules. Period. The Delegates are rightfully Paul's.

No matter how much RP supporters lay in bed and dream about RP being President it isn't going to happen.

The reason is all the "blowback" from his extremist views.

"Extremist views"? Another brainwashed neo-con who thinks we can afford to spend more money than we take in, blowing other countries up.

    Good grief. :tonofbricks:

Who cares if Obama wins? It will be no different than if Romney wins. Either way we will have big-government, rising deficits, and out of control unemployment. I would prefer Obama to Romney, simply because I only have to put up with Obama for 4 years, and I also don't have to worry about mass tea-party compromising under Obama. The Congressmen will stand firm against him...something they will NOT do when the SAME policies are instituted under Romney.

Paul has the most detailed plan of anyone. I believe you are mistaken.

Not really a detailed plan - just a simple one:

Dont have nothing to do with any other country, let Americians do whatever they want

Rand Paul is one of our two elected Senators. He or his Dad do not have extreme views. The Republican establishment, people like Mitch McConnell and other Congressional leaders, are the thugs who brought the Republican Party from a conservative mindset in 1988 to the liberal, in bed the with Democrat mindset today. The gap is not between the Republicans and Democrats, it is between those two and those who honor the Constitution.

What have the Republicans done about stopping abortion? Every four years they pound the podium about family values and right to life. Every four years the slaughter continues. They nominated a weak, liberal candidate in 2008. This year, we are about to nominate a non Christian who supported abortion, gay rights, gun control, and government run health insurance while governer of a liberal northeastern state. The ONLY reason anyone on this board is voting for Romney is that he will cause less damage than Obama, and there is a chance he is right to life. There is no chance Obama is.

So, when you call Ron Paul a person with extremeist views, maybe you need to reorient your thinking. The Consititution is the normal standard. Conservatism is the normal standard. The establishment Democrat-Republican liberal thug axis is the extreme view.

To explain it again, those who support the Constitution, are conservative and want to serve the people are the normal standard. Republican and Democrat politicians who are self indulgent slobs, thugs, thieves, liberals, economic terrorists, and traitors are not the norm.

Not quite. Following the Consitution and expecting our leaders to govern by it is not quite having nothing to do with any country, as the Constitution addresses treaties and dealings with other nations. The Constitution does not have a premise of letting Americans of doing what they want. The idea is freedom, liberty, and living under the law.

It is just not the Oklahoma delegation, check out this. Romney's nomination is not assured:

    The Battle Is Still On
The present battle for delegates is (not surprisingly) not covered by the mainstream media, who would love to see liberal Romney as the Republican nominee.

The Republican Party is also not advertising the conflict. Public show of division is rarely wise.

    But the battle rages on:
    Battle over Maine delegates
Maine Governor threatening to boycott convention
    Battle over Oklahoma delegates
Republican activists challenging 20 Ron Paul delegates from Maine
160 convention delegates sued the RNC to be freed from voting for Romney
Louisiana’s GOP delegate count is being challenged (8-13-12)
Arguments continue over GOP convention delegates

Last election, most of Paul's supports that I know backed BHO .
This is a picture of why our government is in the shape that it is.
Elected officials can't get along with those of another party, can't get a long with those with in their party, to big of egos. We have what we have asked for in a way, I want it my way but if I can't get it my way, I'll stop you from getting it your way.

Since many of us have decided to vote for Romney despite his view of Jesus, and his record as governor of MA (ie on abortion, gay rights, health care, gun control, etc), I do not see how that is a better choice than Paul or any of the other candidates that were running. I also cannot see how any of the other candidates would have any less of a chance against Obama than Romney. Recalling the 1980 election, the landslide was caused by having a pure conservative candidate.

My friend, as my kids tell me it isn't the 40's, 50's or 60's any more, things have changed. Well it isn't the 80's either. We use to go into the convention and they were open for the most part but today they aren't. If we had to go through three or four rounds of votes to come up with our man, I think it would put us to far behind to catch BHO.
For the most part when one lost or was out of the picture, they threw their support behind the head man, today we still want it our way or we won't support the candidate. Even in local elections I have seen people that were friends and end up running against one another and never speak to the other again or less they or in a place in public where it is Jolting Joe and a JFK look at one another. They change parties many democrats and republicans have left and went to the libertarian party after a defeat of themselves or or their candidate. I'm as bad, I haven't voted for a Republican for president in years, I've gone 3rd. party.
I still recall as a kid, the Dixie Democrats fight with in their party.
