Will the wind blow Mitt away?

Maybe Mother Nature is a Democrat. and, and, and even some Republicans are deserting him.

Oh, hard to imagine expensive and inefficient wind power will ever be all that popular overall. It makes for good pork spending though, even in red states. Many greens are even against windmills though as they chop up birds.

You know what I always wondered, is why did the Americans at the Alamo allow themselves to be slaughtered by the Mexican Army in that small fort, when they had all those skyscrapers just a few blocks away to hide in?

It is for the above reasons that CTB is a diehard leftist!

When Obama loses perhaps they can give him a big tele prompter and put him in front of a wind turbine. Might get enough energy to light a very small LED! But that is more useful work than he has ever done.

It costs about 2 grand to set up a windmill on your home and connect it to your electric grid. This would put electricity back into the grid and give from a small bill to a check back from the Electric company. The problem is not Republicans. It is the Electric companies who do not want to accommodate that.

Now that kind of windmill would not be beneficial in every home in America but it would be a great advantage where I am at. We have quite a bit of wind out here.

I'm glad you qualified that statement with a smiley. Lately, some of your posts have been so far out there people could've thought you were serious.

Our electric bill is less than $30 a month.

We would never break even on a $2,000 windmill.

Actually it is very likely that you would get a check back every month. Provided you have sufficient reoccurring wind in your area.

Right! And the oil companies suppressed a carburetor that could get 100 miles/gallon back in the depression era!

You really need to provide some specifics as to exactly how you would tie into the grid. Otherwise I don't believe it is possible. Do you know the voltage, the amps, and the frequency at which the grid operates?

    Then what is stopping you?

In fact you could start a company marketing the systems and make a fortune.

If it is economically viable -why should taxpayers subsidize it?

Answer - because it's not economically viable.

Perhaps after Obama is kicked out you two can form a wind company and power two LED's!

Well we could blow a lot of money in China buying windmills. I understand their economy is struggling! You know the Dutch used to make scenic windmills. Perhaps they could help out!
