There is no other God but YHVH

1. There is no God "beside him"

Isa 45:21 Tell ye, and bring them near; yea, let them take counsel together: who hath declared this from ancient time? who hath told it from that time? have not I the LORD?[YHVH] [/U][/B] and there is no God else beside me; a just God and a Saviour; there is none beside me.



2. There is no God "with him"

De 32:36 For the LORD [YHVH]....37 And he shall say...39 ¶ See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.




3. He is omniscient but KNOWS OF NTHER GOD except HIMSELF:


Isa 44:6 Thus saith the LORD [YHVH] .....8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any



4. There is no other God in heaven or on earth beside Him:

De 4:39 Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the LORD [YHVH] [/U][/B]he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.



5. YHVH is from EVERLASTING TO EVERLASTING and without beginning or end and never was made or formed:


Hab 1:12 Art thou not from everlasting, O LORD my God, mine Holy One? we shall not die. O LORD,[YHVH] [/U][/B] thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God, thou hast established them for correction.

Ps 90:1 ¶ Lord, [Adonai] thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.

Psa. 93:1 ¶ [B]The LORD [YHVH] [/B]reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved.
2 Thy throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting.



6. More than One Person in the Godhead is called YHVH

Isa. 44:6 Thus saith the LORD [YHVH] the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.



7. Jewish Prophets distinguished the Son from the "Lord God" in heaven and "Lord God" is eqivilent to Hebrew JHVH Adonai by all Jewish prophets:

Lu 1:32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

Lu 1:68 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people,

Re 21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

 

It is a noun and it is the proper name for God. What do you mean it is not a "proper" noun? It is certainly not an adjective or a verb. The Hebrew Old Testament had no vowel points.

 

Many Hebrew scholars believe that the root meaning of YHVH is "to be" or "being." Hence, "I Am" would be an equivilent as far as root meaning.
