FROM Bill Nye: Creationism Is Not Appropriate For Children

    >would you please enlighten me as to what you place your faith in?

The Bible as generally interpreted by the Apostle's Creed, the Nicene Creed, the Athanasian Creed, the Belgic Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism:

Question 1. What is thy only comfort in life and death?
Answer: That I with body and soul, both in life and death, (a) am not my own, (b) but belong unto my faithful Saviour Jesus Christ; (c) who, with his precious blood, has fully satisfied for all my sins, (d) and delivered me from all the power of the devil; (e) and so preserves me (f) that without the will of my heavenly Father, not a hair can fall from my head; (g) yea, that all things must be subservient to my salvation, (h) and therefore, by his Holy Spirit, He also assures me of eternal life, (i) and makes me sincerely willing and ready, henceforth, to live unto him. (j)

    and the Westminster Smaller Catechism:

Question 1: What is the chief end of man?
Answer: Man's chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy Him forever.

The Lutheran Book Of Concord also makes good sense, haven't reaf it in decades.

WHY DO I SAY CHRISTIANITY HIJACKED THE JEWISH OT (TANAKH)?

In a sense, Christianity is a mystery religion. If there wasn't a mysterious factor in Christianity, then why are there 150+ Christian denominations?

Generally, the most important chapters in a mystery story <G> are the first and the last. The last chapter of the Tanakh is Chronicles and the last paragraph is

    2 Chronicles 36:22-23
    King James Version (KJV)
22 Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the Lord spoken by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,

23 Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath the Lord God of heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Who is there among you of all his people? The Lord his God be with him, and let him go up.

This is a logical and "Jewish" conclusion to their "Bible."

But the Christian OT ends with Malachi 4: 5-6

    Malachi 4:5-6
    King James Version (KJV)
5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord:

6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

This is a very "Christian" text and a text that implies more text will follow.

Jesus, himself, implied that Malachi is not the last book of the OT:

    Matthew 23:35
That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.

    Luke 11:51
From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias which perished between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall be required of this generation.

One might think that in using these two names that Jesus is simply saying, "From A to Z," but Omega is the last letter of the Greek alphabet, not Zeta. Why did Jesus choose Abel and Zacharias for his lesson? Maybe because Jesus knew

    2 Kings 14:29-15:12
    King James Version (KJV)
29 And Jeroboam slept with his fathers, even with the kings of Israel; and Zachariah his son reigned in his stead.

15 In the twenty and seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel began Azariah son of Amaziah king of Judah to reign.

2 Sixteen years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned two and fifty years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jecholiah of Jerusalem.

    3 And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father Amaziah had done;

4 Save that the high places were not removed: the people sacrificed and burnt incense still on the high places.

5 And the Lord smote the king, so that he was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a several house. And Jotham the king's son was over the house, judging the people of the land.

6 And the rest of the acts of Azariah, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

7 So Azariah slept with his fathers; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.

8 In the thirty and eighth year of Azariah king of Judah did Zachariah the son of Jeroboam reign over Israel in Samaria six months.

9 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, as his fathers had done: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

10 And Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him, and smote him before the people, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.

11 And the rest of the acts of Zachariah, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

What was special about Abel and Zachariah? They were the first and last what? Is "Chronicles" " the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?"

You all know the Bible better than I do. You 'splain me Jesus' statement.

Yeshua was the promised One to come, the Messiah of the Jews and the gentiles, and the Holy Spirit inspired the Apostles to record revealtion JUST as he did the oT prophets!

Christianity did not "hi jack" Judaism, as it instead showed us directly what the OT referenced by only types and shadows!
