Pastor Lists 'Mormon Cult Errors,' Says Those Who Love Jesus Won't Vote Mormon

An evangelical pastor who says his ministry's goal is "uniting the USA in Christ," has created a list of "5 Mormon Cult Errors" that he believes can help Christians from being "deceived" by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He insists that those who "love Jesus" should not vote for a Mormon candidate, in this case, Mitt Romney.

Pastor Steven Andrew, head of USA Christian Ministries and author of the 2011 book, Making of a Strong Christian Nation, online list of alleged cult-like practices includes: 1). Mormons deny God; 2). Mormons preach a different gospel; 3). Mormons hide the Cross; 4). Mormons have occult practice; 5). Mormons are Anti-Christian." Andrew, who refers to Romney as "Mormon Romney," has previously called on Franklin Graham and Joel Osteen to repent for suggesting that Christians should have no issues with voting for a Mormon.

In his comments, Andrew takes President Barack Obama to task as well, expressing his doubts about the president's confessed Christian faith.
"If a Mormon or Obama wants to believe things contrary to God's Word, God let's them. But they shouldn't deceive others and say they are Christians," he said, adding that he believes the president has betrayed the United States and mismanaged finances.

"Barack Obama doesn't have God's love for Americans, (nor) does Obama want God's unalienable rights for Christian life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness," a statement on Andrew's USA Christian Ministries website read. "Obama betrayed the USA, seeks to remove freedoms and squandered $6-plus trillion that harms Americans, from the elderly to the youth."
Pastor Andrews told The Christian Post that he created the "5 Mormon Cult Errors" list after examining the issues taking place within the country.

    Follow us
"I'm very concerned for the United States that we have God's blessing. To have God's blessing we need to love God and obey him, because everybody wants us to recover economically and have freedom again," he said. "The Bible tells us that comes from loving God and obeying him."

Andrew said he hopes to educate people about Mormons having a different doctrine than Christians.
"I would like to see Christians understand that Mormons preach a different gospel, which is what apostle Paul warns in Galatians 1:9," Andrew said. "If you preach another gospel you are cursed. If we vote for a Mormon we're turning our back on Jesus Christ."

I wonder if the response would be different if the two runners were running for the same office in a different country-----like saaaaaaay---Chile

Would the Christians in Chile see the election any differently then what is perceived here by Christians??

To me----I am voting for a president to lead the United States----I am not voting for them to be the pastor of my church

Let me ask you a question Zaac. Did God choose who is going to be our President this November? Isn't it really God who decided that it would be Obama versus Romney? And won't it be God who decides who wins?

Rom 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

Whether you want to believe it or not, God has chosen one of these men to be our next President. Now, that could be to punish us for our sin, or it could be the answer to many prayers to straighten our country out some.

Man did not choose who would be in this election, God did.

God also brought about this country where we have the right to vote. It is up to us as voters to choose whom we think is best for the country. Sometimes that means choosing the lesser of two evils. No Christian is happy that Romney is a Mormon, but I believe most Christians believe he would be better for the country than Obama. He has said he is pro-life, and he supports marriage between a man and woman only. Obama actively supports abortion and gay marriage. Which is better?

And that STILL has nothing to do with who Christians support. God ALLOWED the two to be the nominees. People CHOSE to make them the nominees.

    [

As they are the two nominees, it's obvious that God is allowing it. So why would I not believe that?

God may have allowed it. But the voting for the two anti-Christs was solely the choice of men.

And THAT is a bunch of pure baloney. I'm so sick of folks and this choosing the lesser of two evils. You might as well admit that if an atheist were running against Obama, Christians would be supporting him too if he were pro-life and anti-same sex. The lesser of two evils doesn't justify this wickedness.

Pick one. Either God is sovereign and holds the fate of this country in HIS hand or Romney can make the country better. you can't have it both ways.

Which is precisely the fence folks keep trying to straddle. Romney ain't gonna make anything better. He is lost and on the way to an eternal lake of fire.

If Christians want to see things get better, they better start thinking ETERNALLY instead of the next 4 years. Obama ain't the problem. It's the wickedness of Christians that's the problem. And this election, where we have chosen to support that which is against Christ because we think it will be "better" for the country than the other anti-Christ speaks LOUDLY to our wickedness.

Instead of endorsing God and His HOLINESS, Christians are choosing to endorse a "lesser wickedness" just because we believe it will be better for the country than another wicked man.

It is utterly unbelievable that we would endorse any wickedness as preferential when God calls for HOLINESS.

And you are the perfect example of what the majority on here have tried to deny about why Christians are supporting Romney.

Neither is better. The abortion is wrong. The same-sex stuff is wrong. And the worship of the false god is wrong.

So choose HOLINESS instead of folks who example wrong.

Hey, Zaac, did you have an LDS girlfriend who dumped you or something? Your overattention to Romney's religion has to have some reason. If love of Christ were it, as was pointed out, your attentions would be more balanced.

When it comes to governments of men, religion is to be preferred to secularism, theism to atheism and definitely Mormonism to Obamaism.

How is Romney any more a son of Satan than was Benjamin Franklin or Thomas Jefferson?

Now THAT is a good question- although Franklin never served as President.

I fail to see why a vote for Romney is any worse than a vote for Jimmy Carter, who although a "Southern Baptist" is as liberal as they come.

Sorry, but in this country we have elections, albeit indirect for POTUS. Still, the voters, and ultimately the electoral college will select our next president. We are not a theocracy. Context is important in reading Biblical passages.

I will vote for the man who would do best in the job. Unfortunately, Jesus isn't running so ANY person that runs will be flawed.

Silly you, don't you know? Because just as Carter's presidency led to millions of people converting to becoming Baptists so shall Romney's presidency cause millions to convert to Mormonism.

    Thus saith The Zaac.

You aren't making sense. In one sentence you say God chooses the president and in the next you say the voters choose. Which is it?

If God chooses who is going to be president why should we bother to vote at all?

    Great post, thank you.

I would say that God "allows" rather than use the word "chooses."
