Rain, or the threat thereof, has caused the big stadium show of Barak Obamma to be cancelled!:laugh::laugh::laugh:

Rain is an excuse only because they cannot fill the stadium. they did not want to show the meager crowds they are drawing.

I think that goes back to the thread on passing out tickets at a bar. I cannot say I blame him for cancelling an event for rain. If I had pulled the stunts he has in the last four years, I would be scared that thunder and lightning would accompany the rain.

Let me understand this. An oft hurled accusation of the Dems by the right is that they buy votes and bus or otherwise drive voters to the polling place. But now you say they can't fill a stadium for a speech? They are giving away tickets in bars. I have confidence the Dems can figure out a way to get people to go to a stadium to hear a speech.

I'd say the rain excuse is legitimate.

I understand that there's only a 20% chance of rain...

Apparently, according to Fox, they had already eliminated 20,000 seats from occupancy. Perhaps the 56,000 left was still too much. Also umbrellas were not permitted!

Well good luck with that. By the way busing people in does not mean they had the capacity to fill the seats.

    Yes or No.

Obama is a narcissistic ego maniac?

Obama loves to give speeches to big crowds?

The 2008 Obama acceptance speech was at a packed stadium in Denver?

Dems have been known to buy voters?

The answer to all those questions is a yes.

BTW, the weather forecast is for 40% chance of thunderstorms for Thursday night in Charlotte.

I think you are correct in your conclusion. I would not get really worried about what Rev Mitchell thinks.

One would imagine that people who actually purchased tickets, paid for motels, maybe have already traveled or are en route, might get upset at the thought of not being allowed in now. Oh well, lol.

They couldn't pack out the stadium. The bus trips have been cancelled (at least the ones that hadn't left yet). Chance of rain is minimal and they can't have umbrellas (according to the rules adopted by the Charlotte officials in preparation for this convention). Can't even have water bottles, either. So, oh well......

Free tickets given away and now they are no good? What the government (obama) gives, the government (obama) takes away. You'd think people would get a clue.

    Your point being?

Why not just have it as originally planned, especially when the chances are greater that it will not rain? Moving it to a smaller venue and citing potential weather as the cause only reinforces the idea people have that Obama is a narcissist and that the party leadership is inept.

Part of me wants Mittens to win. That way when he and the Reps have a colossal fail, then the Dems can blame them.....btw, Obama ain't gettin' my vote either.........just like pickin' from "dumb" and "dumber"......

I am not hoping either fails, but if you think for one nanosecond that Mittens will strenghten the middle class or help the poor, you're smokin' something illegal. The GOP is pro-big business, and will give them the tax cuts at our expense.
