Electoral College- you pick 'em- Fun!

    This may have been posted before, but I had a lot of fun picking how I thought the Electoral College will turn out. Try it yourself.

    Just pick "My Picks" on the right and click on each state till it is blue or red and see the totals at top. You can change any state any time you want. There is useful information on each state and how it voted in the last several elections.

    I think I did a pretty good job, and I got 282 for Romney, 256 for Obama.

    Don't forget DC! You have to click on a square for that.

    I gave Wisconsin and Virginia to Obama and it was a tie at 269 each.

    I like the statistics on how each state voted in the last 3 elections, I find that helpful in deciding the swing states.

    With Ohio not being selected for either side I've got:

    Obama 266
    Romney 254

    In my scenario, whichever way Ohio goes, so goes the Presidency.

    I've got Florida going to Romney and Wisconsin going Obama. Wisconsin is interesting given the fact that the Gov. Walker recall went the Republicans way, and that Paul Ryan is from that state. I've got Maine splitting 2 electoral votes for each candidate and Nebraska going all in for Romney.

    Yep, and it has in every election since 1964, and all but one election (1960) since 1944.

    There is one plausible scenario where Ohio could go for Obama but Romney still wins the election. Romney would have to get NC, IA, FL, VA, CO and WI for that to happen. Plausible, but not probable at this point, so Ohio is still key. I listed those other key states in the order of likelihood of going for Romney. I think NC, IA, FL definitely go Romney.

    I suppose the converse is true - that Romney could win Ohio but Obama still win. But I think that scenario is less likely.

    Sorry, I realise it is a mistype. I am just a bot of Electoral College fan :)

    I assume it is Obama 270 - Romney 268?

    I believe Wisconsin will go to Romney. They rejected the Dems and unions twice this year, and I think they will go for Ryan.

    I am a little worried about Florida, could go either way. I tried it with Obama

    Penn. could go Obama, but it is very possible it will go to Romney. I went with Romney

    You may be right about Ohio. Iowa could go Obama as well.

    With these changes I got Obama 268, Romney 270.
