OR Is A Closet Democrat

    Oregon is one of the West Coast States that used to vote consistantly Republican. This could be one of the suprises this year, with the state of the economy. Does anyone think Romney could pick this state off?

    Oregon has 2 Democrat U.S. senators and 4 out of 5 U.S. House members are Dems.

    Oregon is the Appalachia of the west coast. Several possible reasons. A large part of the land area is federal property. Two major industries were logging and fishing. Fishing has been trashed by bottom trawlers and over fishing. Logging has been trashed by tree huggers.

    We spent ten days in August driving through Washington and Oregon. They are really beautiful states. I did notice one political difference from here. The political commercials were all trying to align themselves with Obama. Here, even the Democrats try to pin Obama on their opponent.
