It seems that Romney cannot make the switch from businessman to politician. Money is everything to a businessman, but, while important, is not everything for a politician. This is not a criticism but a head-scratching speculation on my part.

:laugh:Right! He didn't rush off to a "Las Vegas fund raiser" right after his "emotional" announcement of the murder of four Americans in Libya.

Actually Salty we should be thankful he has spent the last four years fund raising. Given that in 4 years he has increased the national debt by 50% or over $5 trillion {$5,000,000,000,000}, given us an annual deficit of $1 trillion {$1,000,000,000,000} in perpituity, given us socialized medicine and a 15 member death panel just think of the hell he could have raised if he ever got serious.:BangHead: If he wins again he will not have to fund raise.:tonofbricks:

A legitimate point. Of late, Romney's schedule is seriously low on appearances in swing states.

In the 12 days from Sept. 7, the day after the Democratic convention ended and the fall campaign began in earnest, to this Tuesday, Romney held seven public campaign events and delivered a policy speech to the National Guard Assn. on Sept. 11. Mixed in were numerous private fundraisers, including events in New York, Chicago, Costa Mesa, Salt Lake City and Jacksonville, Fla.

During the comparable period of 2008, McCain and Obama held more than 20 public campaign events each. Where they held fundraisers, they typically tried to campaign nearby, ideally in the closest swing state. Romney has not often done that.

Apparently he's gotten the message as he's going on a bus tour of Ohio next week.

Therein lies the problem. As the challenger to the incumbent, Romney must raise more money than Obama. Romney needs to wring more efficiency out of his fundraisers and campaign stops. Coordinate the locations of the events so you can do both with the least amount of travel time.

Disagree. Think he had the point all along. There are these things referred to as "the 7 laws of learning"; one of them is the "law of recency." In effect, the last thing heard is the thing you remember most.

When do I want to spend the most time in the swing states? Early in the campaign, or just before the election?

Has anyone seen his schedule for the month of October?
