Joel Osteen’s appearance on CNN Thursday revealed little that is new. It was Osteen as always — evasive and confused, but constantly smiling. This is now his calculated and well-practiced approach. He offered no word of the gospel, and no reference to Jesus Christ, but he was introduced as “one of the most recognizable faces of Christianity in America today.”

A Religious Tony Roberts. Maybe Osteen will try the hot coals walk trick next. Bet you he can still retain his smile while taking that walk! :D:D:D

Joel Olsteen is regularly used as an object in Sunday School lessons as a sign of the end times. Here is a popular "preacher" who hardly ever mentions Scripture or the name of the Lord. In past times, he would have been called a motivational speaker. What that has to do with salvation is beyond me. He is so vague, which side would he be in an election-free will debate? I cannot tell, if he even knows the concept. I listened to him a couple of times, and I know you think I am narrow minded, but it has gotten to where I cannot stand to even hear the voice.

The thing that is so dangerous about this man is giving lost people a sense of comfort about their salvation based on feel good concepts, instead of faith in Jesus Christ, and carrying His cross daily, counting the cost. Sometimes when the camera scans his audience, the eyes of the congregation seem glazed over with a sense of contentment and satisfaction with the message, when the message has nothing to do with the Scripture.

If one considers the seriousness of sin to God, the seperation from the Lord it creates, the price that Jesus had to pay both physically and spiritually, and compares it with that "I'm OK, you're OK, kumbaya" message, well, it should be a capital offense. The moment that Jesus Christ said, "My God, My God, why has Thou forsaken me" the pain and spiritual seperation from the Father was a degree of agony that out minds cannot begin to comprehend, and the love that was shown to us by the Creator Himself. Then we have the nerve to admire a clown like this one as a spokesman for the Gospel.

The only question I would have about this type of nonsense, is, does this do more or less harm than the fake faith healers and TV money changers like Robert Tilton and Ernest Angsley to mention a few.

It seems very odd we can pack a football stadium, basketball court, rock concert, and yes, a Joel Olsteen circus, but where the Gospel is preached in its true form, the pews have lots of empty space.

Oh yes, I am glad you mentioned that smile. I believe it is painted on his face like the singers on the Lawerence Welk show. One could have taken a two by four and beat them while they were singing and that smile would have remained until they passed out.

The only "counting the cost" he does is when he buys his nice suits, wakes up in his nice house, drives his nice car(s), flies on a jet to be on TV shows.....all paid for from the tithes his audience pays him each month....yuck!

I know sin is sin to the Lord, but when Christ walked this earth, as far as we know two things visibly angered Him. It was not drunkedness, adultry, or tax cheats, which our denomination seems to harp on. It was people who make a cheap buck off the House of God, and people who pray for public recognition, or those who are clean on the outside and rotten to the core on the inside. Whitewashed tombs. I think I will make an extra effort to stay away from those two catagories.

So, you're saying you're swearing off baths and brushing your teeth? Don't take your convictions too far, Brother. But then again, your HS sweetheart was a witch who could not bath either.....

Olsteen is a disgrace to Christianity. That smile is sort of an evil grin as in" the money keeps pouring in".... Yea, I guess he thinks he has reason to smile, but only for a season padre, only for a season.....

What's amazing to me is that even Osteen is seen as judgmental according to the video. While I think he's really so slick with his answers, he DOES answer that homosexuality is a sin - and then he is never allowed to finish a sentence after that thanks to the guy attacking him.

Osteen really tries to not offend anyone but even he can't say that homosexuality is not a sin and for that I'm grateful. I just wish he were a bit more solid in how he speaks about it.

Last night i was flipping through the channels and I saw the Psychopath...
Amedinijad from Iran being interviewed by the guy...Piers Morgan..on cnn.
Piers Morgan was trying to get Amedinijad to say that Homosexuals are really okay???? So you have a Demonic psychopath defending himself from this liberals perverted view of sexuality. He kept prodding Him as if he could convince him that this perversion was okay???? What if they are born this way,etc......Amedinijad looked at him in disgust and could not grasp why he was pressing this perversion on him.:thumbsup:
While most muslims are demonically spellbound....it was ironic that he was closer to truth than this media liberal...the interview is probably on youtube...if I find it i will post it.
