Earth, Wind and Fire was suggesting, in another thread, that I wear a robe, Stetson, and boots when I preach. So, I thought I'd share a pic of me in my hat...and then thought it would make a fun fellowship thread.

This shot is me, Jason, standing next to my 3rd of 4 sons, Bobby at age 10, in 2009 on a friends ranch in SD. We spent a week helping work cows.

EDIT: I think if you look in my profile you can see the pic in a better size.

And the horse is a dapple gray & SD is flat & desolate looking. Is that the 1st time the kid is on a horse?

LOL That part of SD is pretty flat....just has rolling hills. It's not far from the Black Hills though. Yes, that was his first time on a horse. I took my niece on that trip too. She had some minor tech-withdrawals at first but ended up having a good time too.

I'd love to serve a church in that kind of area. Small country church, get to work cows sometimes, and just enjoy God's creation.

I have seen studies that proper (generally more formal) dress generates respect. I have never seen any that indicate casual dress generates respect.

I thought my car had a good air conditioner. This summer I wanted to see some stuff near Chamberlain, SD. We chickened out half way through Montana.

That only proves how superficial we are concerning such things. If I were more worried about impressing people than I am about faithfully preaching the Word I would probably dress differently.

Thus the often used common term used, "Empty Suit"

Even with a power suit & tie, you got 3 minutes to impress
me with your intelligence & ability to communicate ....then with or without a tie, your done.
