It would be interesting to hear experiences from posters of what went through their minds on Presidential election days when they were undecided as they walked into the booth. Please say which election it was and what went through your mind at the last moment.

I guess my toughest elections were 1992 and 2008. In 1992, I was totally undecided, as I felt Bush had given in on taxes when he promised the opposite. At the time, it made me so angry it was a choice between Perot and Clinton. Once in the booth, something told me Perot was not all there, so I ended up voting for Clinton. I reversed that in 1996 and voted for Dole. It was the same pattern with the other Democrat I voted for, Carter in 1976. I reversed myself and voted for Reagan in 1980.

This last election was horrible. McCain was so bad (Obama was never a consideration), that I almost voted third party. Once in the booth, I voted for McCain, probably a mistake. We will never know.

This year is only slightly different. I have it in my mind now to vote for Romney in advance, but sometimes the thought crosses my mind about the third party candidates like Gary Johnson, former governor of New Mexico.

Will our generation ever see a situation again where we would be for a candidate, in fact, comfortable with voting for either, instead of voting for a person who is going to cause the least damage?
