Dog tracks down ailing owner at hospital

    http://www.myfoxny.com/story/19740226/dog-tracks-down-ailing-owner-at-hospital

Zander, a husky, was so upset when his owner was hospitalized that the pooch tracked him down and paid him a visit.

John Dolan was hospitalized with a skin condition last week. His wife says their dog Zander took it hard. She says the dog sulked and even cried.

Then Zander, seemingly decided he had to be by his owner's bedside. Zander broke out of the Bay Shore home and made his way to the Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center more than 2 miles away

This is why I'm a dog person.

Same here- never met one I didn't like, and only one that I was wary of (a pit bull trained to attack. A few weeks after my little run in, it almost killed an elderly woman and had to be put down. I blame the idiot [most civil term I can think of] owners.).

I wish more people were like their dogs. Except the rump-sniffing part.

Pets add lots to a family. We have a dog, a cat, and birds.

Let me tell you, that happened near here and that dog had to cross Sunrise Highway. NOT a road I would ever want to cross without a large vehicle around me!

I had to laugh when you said "cross the Highway" Ann.

I was driving down one of our busy highways the other day. Got to one of the "big" intersections and saw the medium size black border collie mix (with a collar) standing on the far side of the road waiting to cross. You could tell it wasn't the first time it had crossed there. It looks both ways and decides it can cross because traffic was stopped. But the light changed just about the time the dog got to the center median. Dog stops and waits and the first few cars, including me, move cautiously past it. The cop behind me puts his lights on, moves to the center so he's blocking both lanes of traffic and waits until the dog crosses the rest of the road, which it quickly did and then traffic moved on.

Smart dog huh? :D Stuff like this happens all the time around here.

That totally was my last dog. She knew how to cross a street properly. LOL

I love dogs. Mine follows me from room to room in the house, not wanting me out of her sight. It drives me nuts, but at least she's loyal.

    What a great story.
