Have any of you read the garbage that this devil teaches? This devil teaches a universalist view of salvation and is into pluralism. This man has never read the many passages of scripture that speak of repenting, for I doubt Rob Bell is a believer. Unlike Joel Osteen Rob Bell teaches far more dangerous stuff than self-help and is probably a full blooded heretic and not strictly a false teacher (Osteens rank).

LOL - Where have you been? Not only is this old news, but there are a number of books written in response to this! One good one is by Francis Chan called "Erasing Hell". If you have Amazon Prime, I believe you can get it for free on the Kindle.

Yeah, it is kind of old news. I wrote a review of his book awhile back. He can be frustrating to read if you have an appreciation for truth, and grammar.

I read lots of books and its impossible for me to keep up with everything. Grammar? I find errors in this area by many evangelist type authors (Comfort, Cahill) and others as well (Lutzer). Grammar annoys me, but I won't dock a book many stars in a review by it alone as I look at substance and Biblical accuracy much more so.

I understand what you're saying about keeping up with books. I have at least 200 sitting in my "to be read" pile.

When I say Bell's books have grammar issues I am not talking about the usual group of typos we see in books. Bell often rejects conventional grammatical form by using half-sentences and odd page format. He may have changed this in later editions of some of his books because a lot of people used this as additional ammo against his rebellion against orthodox theology and practice.

I've read his books "love wins", "velvet elvis", and "sex god" because I had enough people quoting them and saying how much they liked them that I became concerned and wanted to know what I was dealing with. They were not fun books to read.

He appears to be teaching full blooded heresy. Joel Osteen teaches self-help a needs based message. Osteen is off in left field no question. However Bell takes a whole new level. and I would not even compare the two.

They are both false teachers and therefore, IMO, of the same ilk. The type of error does not matter to me unless for the sake of discussion (like making a point while teaching) I need to classify the errors.

    Edit to add:

If two men (Bell and Osteen, for example) are both teaching what would be classified as "another gospel" does it really matter what that gospel is?
