Early Voting

If I am not mistaken, today is the first day of early voting in Wisconsin.

 

Now if we only had voter ID implemented.

 

I think we get about 3 weeks out to vote by absentee ballot. You have to register for absentee ballot and your signature is checked. They are not opened until election day.

I don't know the numbers for the state but 30% of our counties registered voters will vote by absentee ballot.

 

In Washington State many counties have only ballots distributed by mail. I voted last week.

 

Tennessee allows early voting in person. I voted last week.

We have had early voting for years.

 

I'm pretty sure they allow early voting in Florida. Recall seeing some voting forms at my parents place the other week that they were mailing off.

I'm a Florida resident also! But am stuck in Illinois at the moment and might be here for awhile. Bit concerned that I might not make it in time to vote. Will have to look further into this.

I believe early voting or mail ballot should not be allowed except when it impossible for the person to be at the polls on election day. However, I believe that two days should be set aside for voting!

 

Call your county election board. We have one stop voting, and I love it.

Only thing I regret was that I didn't realize that the Wednesday I voted was the FIRST day for early voting.

I appreciated the fact that there was a fairly large crowd there to vote, but where they held early voting for my voting precinct was in a building that was NOT originally designed to accomodate THAT many at one time!!!

I believe that the building was originally designed to be a bank building because you can see on the outside of the building where there were what obviously "drive-thru" tellers, etc.

When I started early voting at the building, it was occupied by some inter-/non-denominational-type sounding chuch congregation.

Don't know exactly what became of the church congregation that occupied that building, but some time earlier this year they'd sold that building to (I guess) the Metropolitan Nashville-Davidson County govt, which, in turn, coverted it into some kind of local "Activity(-ies) Center."

(Maybe that church congregation wasn't "Seeker - Friendly" enough!!??!!) --- but THAT's something for another thread or two to take up!! :laugh: :BangHead:

 

Early voting has been going on for a while here in NC. I'm not sure how long, as I'm an "traditional" election day voter.

BTW, I agree with Old Regular. Two days should be enough.

 

I voted at the Library. The line was wrapped around books but only took about 20 minutes to move on through, not too bad. Someone I know who went later than me the same day had to wait for 35 minutes. The news said on the first day of early voting, 10,000 votes were cast in Davidson County.

I like early voting so I don't have to take off from work to go vote. And I don't mind showing my Driver's License, either. To me, it ensures the integrity of the vote.

Another good thing about voting early, once you vote, you are spared the robocalls - they know you have already voted and leave you alone. :laugh:

 

I'll be mailing my ballot in tomorrow...along with my code and signature for verification.

Then I can tell the daily pollster that are knocking on my door I already voted...wait, I just tell them we're busy and don't answer their questions anyways.
