Guess it's not to big of a stretch at all that a lot of white voters will not vote for Obama just because he's Black.

I am sure there will be white people who do not vote for the President because he is black. Just like there will be blacks people who vote for him simply because he is black.

But most people will vote for or against a candidate based on what their policies have been or what they say their policies will be if elected. Only the most racist or anti-religionists will vote against someone because of their color or religion.

According to the AP report, race plays in part in how people vote. More so than we may think.

the problem with the poll is that they have to read into people's motives and intents of the heart with indirect questions. A lot of speculation and no real facts. But liberals like Zaac, Crabby and the rest of the DNC love to want this to be true. The poll serves no good purpose and is intended to create and excuse if Obama should lose the election. Because liberals cannot behave themselves stuff like this will only create more animosity and division.

Bill, beat you to it. ;)

There's a thread on this AP poll at http://www.baptistboard.com/showthread.php?t=82342

BTW, check the survey section on responses based on voting based on race. I just posted the link to the entire survey in the other thread.

While some white people's votes will be affected by race, I suspect that there are many more black people whose votes will be affected by race. IMO, any vote that is affected by race is a racist vote.

Yes, this was covered in another thread where I believe it was said that 95% or so of Blacks were voting for Obama just because he's black.

Yes this is essentially what has been said before on this board. I suspect there are probably more whites number wise whose vote will be affected by race.

Colin Powell's ex-COS seems to think so. And now I hear Sununu is backing down from his statements.

Stop. Right. There. Obviously, there is a reality disconnect.

Anyone should recognize that it's impossible for a higher percentage of a a group (79%) to express "explicit (anti-black) racism" and for only 64% of that same group to hold "anti-black feelings." That the survey obtained this result proves beyond doubt without going further that its determination of what does and doesn't constitute explicit and implicit racism is inconsistent and flawed to the point of rendering its results useless.

    Read more: http://newsbusters.org/blogs/tom-bl...y-harbor-prejudice-against-blac#ixzz2AY7Ja1oU

The survey results don't pass the smell test.

    They stink.

Thanks for some common sense analysis. The truth is as Tom Butler Stated...some whites will not vote for obama because he is black...some blacks will vote for him because he is black...but the VAST majority will vote with the party they have always voted for, regardless of race...

The simple fact is that a majority of republicans would have voted for a hypothetical Herman Cain/ Condolesa rice ticket OVER a hypothetical white democratic ticket...Party affiliation matters more than anything else for most people...like it or not.

Is it a matter of party affiliation or philosophy that matters to most voters? I think the answer varies according to party and demographics.
