Is 21 Dec now forgotten about? I have heard nothing in the news or in here. Remember Y2K and the preacher who predicted the return of Christ last year got all kinds of publicity. So my point is Paul said in Scripture that the Day of the Loed would come as a thief in the night, which means when no one expects it to happen. Is the silence about the Myan prediction of the end now to be considered as a theif in the night?

I think I'm more concerned about what no one worries about, ya know what I mean?

We've discussed this before...the Mayans didn't take into account leap years. If they had, and since we can, they would have adjusted the date to February 29, 2012.

I'm not the least bit worried.

Right now the "general" conversation is about the election. I suspect that by the time Dec 1 rolls around, 12/21/2012 will be a hot topic of conversation.

    Just 2-cents this morn.

The above documentary is available for streaming on Netflix. You will find the factual information about the calendar and the Myan beliefs very interesting. As with any documentary, accept what is useful and factual and discard the rest.

Essentially, an astrological age is coming to an end. It is not predicting a catastrophic end of the world.

They were not under the gregorian calendar, and being highly skilled astronomers understood what a year was using their method of measuring the solar cycle which not coincidentally mirrors our calculations under the gregorian calendar. Whether this is the end of the age Christ referred to is debateable, but it is the end of this solar cycle that I believe began with the creation account.

The Mayan's were but one pagan society who thought their god would return in 2012. There were at least a half dozen ancient societies that prophecied their gods would all come in 2012, including the RCC's final pope.
