Gen. chap. 2 verse 17 tells adam in the day he eats of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil he shall surely DIE(DEATH).

Now lets look at some things before we conclude what the DEATH really is.

There was also another tree in that garden that he was able to eat of and it was none other than the TREE of LIFE(ETERNAL)

Now if adam was born and not being able to die then there would be of no need for the tree of life in the garden,he was born and was going to die.If he had ate of the tree of life first then he would have not died

So we conclude that he was going to die bodily already before eating any tree of the garden. Now the DEATH was this-thou shalt surely DIE God told him.God was saying in Dieing YOU shall Surely DIE(meaning not to come back to life again--to remain DEAD)

Adam already had the capability of sinning before he did commit sin.So therefore he had the Nature already in him to Sin(But where NO LAW is SIN cannot be brought into the world)
God just gave him 1 law NOT to do and in doing it thats where SIN entered into world by breaking God's Law.The sin nature was already in him but could not be made manifest without a Law to break.

I dont see it was a Spiritual death any longer(iused to hold this believe)but it was the DEATH of the Body(for the Spirit that God Breathed in this body goes back to God at our DEATH)and that the Body dieing it would remain DEAD(JUDGEMENT upon MAN for their Sin)

This topic has alot more discussion than can be made here on these forums about it and seeing im such a bad user of the keyboard to type, ill stop at that point and may others discuss this topic.I truly believe we have not translated this topic rightly as the scripture teaches it :)

This is mostly speculation and many of these conclusions cannot be sustained.Revelation of truth is fixed and certain....God's law was always in place. We are only told about the one he did not obey as it sets the stage for redemptive History.

Revelation 22 says that there will be the tree of life in Heaven, so will we be able to die in eternity?

There are two kinds of death in scripture, spiritual, and physical.

The very fact that men eat shows we were created mortal. Even if Adam and Eve never sinned, they would still have needed to eat for nourishment.

God told Adam and Eve that in the day they ate the forbidden fruit they would die. This is speaking of spiritual death. How do I know that? Because God said they could have eaten of the tree of life and lived forever, therefore sin does not cause physical death, but spiritual. Is this not so??

Adam and Eve did not have a sin nature, God declared them "very good" in Gen 1:31. But you are correct, they were flesh and had lusts and desires that tempted them. This is clearly shown in Gen 3:6 where Eve saw the tree was good for food (lust of the flesh), pleasant to the eyes (lust of the eyes), and desired to make one wise (the pride of life). Having these fleshly lusts and desires did not make them evil, they were created with these natural lusts. It is only when a person obeys the lust of their flesh when it would transgress one of God's law that it becomes sinful. Temptation is not sin, Jesus had natural lusts and desires and was tempted in all points as we are, yet without sin.

So, this is where you err, they did not have a sin nature, they were FLESH. God did not call their flesh evil, he called it very good.

No, they spiritually died the moment they sinned. They came under the condemnation and wrath of God. If they would have died in this state they would have been lost. But when God called them they trusted him and came unto him. They believed his promise to provide a Saviour in the future. Therefore God killed an animal and clothed them, this is righteousness imputed unto them because they believed God. They were saved by faith.

You are correct, there is much to this story folks do not understand.

Sin did not cause physical death, because if Adam and Eve had eaten of the tree of life they would have lived forever. Sin would not have caused them to physically die. No, sin causes spiritual death.

Gen. chap 3 verse 19 states in the sweat of adam's face he was to eat bread, till he return unto the ground, for out of it was adam taken:for dust thou art,and dust shalt thou return.

This is very plainly in the JUDGEMENT and CURSE of man from God because of his SIN and it very plainly states the DEATH of man BODILY.No where does it say anything referring to soul death but speaks plainy on bodily death

True Adam lost fellowship with God(God no longer came day and walked with him because God is Holy and cant walk with Sin)

Now concerning our Spirit which some say is spiritualy dead,if thats the case then it would not have gone back to God.

Ecclesiastes chapter 12 verse 7 plainly states after our bodies returning to dust(DEATH)that our Spirits which were given by God would return unto God.

Even in Acts chapter 7 verse 59 Stephen called upon God and said Lord Jesus RECEIVE my SPIRIT

So in all the history of mankind,Man's Spirit always went back to God who gave it untill the Ressurection and Great Judgement took place at the end of the Age in the new testament, then they were all judged and rewarded--some unto ETERNAL LIFE and some unto ETERNAL DEATH

For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

Christ was put to death in the flesh. When the flesh died, The Christ was dead.

Christ was quickened by the Spirit. His flesh received the sure mercies of David, in that his corruptible flesh did not see corruption. Acts 13:34,35 And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, [now] no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David. Wherefore he saith also in another [psalm], Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

Acts 2:31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

The dead soul Christ was resurrected from Hades the realm of the dead and neither did his flesh see corruption because of the resurrection.

Christ died, the death, once appointed unto men. The Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

    1 Tim 2:5 For [there is] one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

    The resurrected Christ Jesus.
