So Zaac, are you saying you do not believe in free speech?

There is a difference between free speech and rioting. With free speech comes responsibility ... just as responsibility comes with any freedom.

Did you notice the GOP captured almost all of the Confederate States? Does that suggest anything to you? Just curious.

p.s. I grew up in one of the former Confederate states.

I am certain that all of the rioters were disappointed Mormons. :saint:

It suggests to me that we are very divided nation culturally, and that after the Federal GOVT implodes because of the increasingly mountainous debt, it's not out of the realm of possibility that the states might possibly reorganize into a handful of separate 'nations' along cultural lines to replace the USA in it's current bloated imperial state. That way California (w/perhaps Oregon and Wash state) and the Northeast can have all the gay and other alternative 'marriages' they want; and the South (and other 'red states') can keep traditional marriage.

No empire lasts forever. Only God's kingdom will.

As for the racial slurs, etc, that is unfortunate and deplorable.

Yes, it suggests to me that you <edited PA - LE> assumes that "Confederate States" are racist.

<PA Deleted - LE>this is as disgusting as any racist belief.

Where you grew up CB does not interest me. And Zaac... no, you are not "just posting a story" and no, the South will not be seceding from the Union.

Let's examine those former Confederate states, CB, that you are insinuating that they "swept" for Romney for negative reasons and don't deny what you meant.

    Here's their approximate population.

    Louisiana - 4,500,000
    Mississippi - 2,900,000
    Alabama - 4,700,000
    Georgia - 9,600,000
    Texas - 25,000,000
    Arkansas - 3,000,000
    Tennessee - 6,300,000
    South Carolina - 4,600,000
    North Carolina - 9,500,000
    Virginia - 8,000,000
    Florida - 19,000,000

That totals about 97.1 million people. Let's just say that 25% of them are registered voters and that half voted in the election. That's 12.1 million people. I know I'm going with low numbers here.

OK, so 400 people in Mississippi rioted and made racial slurs and shouted profanities.

That's only .0033% of the voters in my hypothetical number of voters and my number was low.

33 ten-thousands of ONE percent. You would have to break a penny into ten-thousand pieces and remove 33 of those ten-thousands pieces aside and compare those pieces to one dollar.

    It's absurd.

There is no "story, Zaac, and CB - absolutely NO correlation between those 400 people and "former Confederate states".

This has been the most painful two days of my life. NOT due to the election. I've moved on. NOT due to having to read ignorant posts on Facebook from former students of mine who say things like, "Because of Obama, we females woke up this morning with more freedoms than we can imagine". I've conquered that pain through prayer for them.

But the things insinuated and directly said about conservative people who did not vote for Obama and now about people in "former Confederate states" here at the BB is painful.

    Very painful.

And I think that's the purpose of the insinuations that haven't stopped here for the past two days by about 3-4 people.

I, for one, am more shocked by the gloating here than I was by the election.

The gloating will not last for long as the liberal/socialist policies come to fruition and our once vibrant nation becomes a 3rd world country. Rioting will be done in the streets by those who have gotten the freebies and suddenly find the well has run dry, that their "messiah" can keep printing money but that money is worthless. History does repeat itself and wise leaders view history as a cautionary tale and take corrective action. In this case, however, at least 50% of our nation has ignored the warning signs and our nation is doomed. It saddens me. It saddens me that 50% of our country cares nothing about God, the unborn, about God's Laws, or about the good of the nation or future generations---only the here and now and "what's in it for me." It saddens me that our politicians have only cared about themselves and retaining power and nothing for the people they are supposed to serve. It saddens me that the Constitution, that great inspired document, has been trampled underfoot. But I believe we are living in the end times and God has permitted it. His Will Be Done. I cling to Romans 8:28, as a Christian, as a Conservative, and Trust that the Lord will take care of me and my family and I know that you, Scarlett, do the same. The drought is coming. Let us prepare and Trust God.

It suggests nothing. I live in Kentucky and am very happy to report Obama got 35%. Kentucky was not a Confederate State. I have yet to see a Confederate flag flying in a front yard. If you will look at the states of Wyoming, Utah, North Dakota, South Dakota, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Idaho, Montana, Missouri, and West Virginia, you will see similar ratios. In fact, if you will look at some of the rural counties within those states, you will see 90%+ for Romney. None of these states are from the Confederacy. What binds these states to the South is a way of life. It is called knowing right from wrong, and using the Constititution as a guide for how we should be governed. We are bound by conservative ideals, not socialist agendas. It has nothing to do with racism.

By the way, I grew up in Gulfport, MS in the 50s and 60s. I saw black Americans treated in ways that turned my stomach at age 12. I have no use or tolerance for anyone who exhibits racism today. Racism is not a synonym for conservatism.

But they don't think so. A large part f the American populace does not understand basic economics. And they don't understand that we can print all the money they want, but if it's not worth anything, you can't use it to do anything. They cannot envision the US bankrupt because they think we can just print more money.

    "

I'm sure they probably think the same thing about the folks who voted for a Mormon who they feel like didn't care anything about anyone but the wealthy and making themselves richer.

Politics seems to blind both sides. which is why a lot of folks need to just focus on the commission of God and move on.

I wish I had as good of an understanding as you do about economics, the Fed, and budget analysis. I would not be surprised to see you nominated to replace Ben Bernake.

I support the principles of the Declaration of Independence over the law of the US Constitution.

    Good. Me too.

"Whenever any form of government is destructive of these ends [life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness] it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it, and to institute new government in such form as to them shall seem most likely to affect their safety and happiness.” Declaration of Independence, 1776

Look at the map of the United States showing the counties that voted for the Constitution in red and those that voted for Obama in blue. About 95% of the country is red. The blue areas are those where people are packed in like ants. Must do something to the thought process!
