Let's make this short and sweet.

There are a large number of states looking forward to leaving the union. If you had to vote on this [in the state, you reside in] would you approve the secession or not? And is secession Biblical?

I'll answer that biblical thing by saying that if the union was doing something that was blatantly against the Word, and leaving the union meant getting back in line with His Word; I'd jump on the wagon to vote my state out of the union.

However, just because I don't like the POTUS, well, that's not good enough, as far as reasons go.

Would the same answer have applied in 1776?

I came up in a Calvinistic Presbyterian church and home and was taught that the Revolutionary war was wrong according to what the Bible teaches. However no one seemed to want to get back under the rule of the King.
No, I would not vote to secede. Why, I'm to old for that mess at this part of my life.

A lot of the secession talk seems to center around anger and money, so I'd vote no.

No...Ohio and its lousy weather can remain in this shell of a nation. I'll move to the country of Texas and Florida as soon as it happens! :). Nothing to do biblically, though. We don't know what morals these nations would have.

No matter which way you think is correct, this is never going to happen. If it did, the whole U.S. economy would collapse.

What goes around comes around. Did not Israel secede leaving the kingdom of Judah and the kingdom of Israel?

I'd vote yes. It's going to collapse sooner or later anyway.

I would vote yes. Obama has proven himself to be against the cause of Christ. While America was on a slide away from its Christian roots Obama gave us a mighty heave that sped that slide up.

But Obama was elected by the people. He's just a symptom of the bigger problem and I don't secession is gonna fix that.

I mean again, 78% of evangelicals voted for Romney and that's not exactly a testament for Christ.

America is on that slide because of US not them. We just had 78% of evangelicals,God's people, vote in support of a man who is against Him.

Marriage is under attack because Christians made so little of it.
Abortion is off the charts because Christians get them as frequently as the lost.
And Jesus Christ as Lord will continue to come under attack the more we make so little of His name by supporting that which is against Him.

Stats please! I don't believe this...it is like the common assumption that Christians get divorced at the same rate as non-Christians...the Truth is that for Believers who regularly attend church and put effort into their faith, their divorce rates are much lower.

As the spouse of a woman who works with a Pregnancy resource center....It is not the dedicated Christian women who come in uncertain as to whether to have an abortion or not...quite the opposite.

(If you believe the statistics that place the majority of Americans as "Christian" then you statement might be correct...but we all know they are not all Christians.)

I know that this is like pouring water off a duck's back, but you do - no, I don't guess you do - realize that voting for President is not making a testimony for one's religious beliefs or god that they worship.

It's electing a secular leader to lead a secular world.

Yes, Zaac, I voted for a man who is not a Christian. I have voted for LOTS of people who are not Christians over the last 32 years. I try to vote for the man or woman who can lead with competence and support the moral beliefs that are important to me.

    You just don't get it.

The U.S. is not a theocracy. And our President is not a priest.

    I would vote no.

I am amazed at the defeatist attitudes of some on this board. At some point in your life I bet some of you would have rallied around this saying: "America, Love it or Leave it."

Maybe some of you can take over Alec Baldwin's, Cher's, Barbra Streisand's or Lynn Redgrave's houses in Canada since they've moved back to the U.S. now that Bush is no longer President.

These secession petitions are simply making a statement. They're going nowhere.

We fought a Civil War over this, and the issue has been settled ever since.

But nobody said anything about Believers who regularly attend church. I'm sure it would go even lower for folks who attend church regularly and tithe.

What percentage are dedicated? Is it the same 20% who tithe?

And you do realize that it's like pouring off a duck's back with you too and that no matter how you or anyone else tries to justify it, a Christian voting for that which is against God is still a Christian voting for that which is against God. And you can try to wrap a pretty bow on it and isolate it from your Christianity, but the rest of the world won't.

Apparently you just don't get it. When is the last time before Romney that you voted to elevate a man to be the leader of the free world who worshiped a god who is not Jesus Christ?

I'm not speaking to the US. I'm speaking to YOU, someone who says she is a fellow follower of Jesus Christ. Your first priority is to be CHRIST in ALL things. He is NOT to be ignored just because you think something is not a "Jesus" issue.

You and all the others voted for the man you thought could save your pocketbooks. And there is no difference between what you did and the folks who wanted to run Jesus out of town for healing a demon possessed man while killing 2000 swine.

Like those folks, there's too many more concerned about this country and its economy than they are about folk's eternal souls.
