Wow! Obama Backs Israels Right to Defend Itself!

    I had to pinch my arm when I came across this article. This is a miracle, if it is a fact, and he is not speaking out of the right side of his mouth.

    This is certainly a change in direction from the president who blew off the Israeli PM to play a game of pick-up basketball last year. Let's pray he means it should Israel decide to send troops across the border. :smilewinkgrin:

    I was to shocked that he is siding with Israel, however listen to the last 5 seconds of the clip. Doesn't sound like he would support an escalation with ground troops into Gaza. I think he will turn on Israel if they do march into Gaza. Time will tell...pray for peace.

    Of course Obama would, regardless of anything else, it is politically impossible not to support the state of Israel. The President is in reality a centre-left social liberal, not a socialist much less a Communist, a pacifist, or a Muslim.

    There is nothing surprising about his backing Israel. The right-wing press has been so biased in painting a false picture of Obama, and the wacky Obama haters have been so dishonest it is no wonder some have such a false idea of what Obama believes.

    GeneralMungBeans is correct. Socially Obama it much more like the social gospel folk. Most Evangelicals do not recognize that type of Christianity now. It was the norm among Baptist where I grew up in rural Virginia.

    A friend e-mailed me an excellent link explaining Obama's Christian faith. I will start a new thread on that topic.

    Good post - well said.

    The president has never denied or implied denial of Israel's right to defend herself. RWM have painted an unfair picture in this regard.

    We get words of support for Israel.

    We get financial support for Hamas.

    Where is the real support?

    This article says Israel has received over 100 billion (vast number of stats in article). Don't quote me but I think I read some place that Hamas/Gaza gets about 1 billion.

    He can't let the Jewish vote get much less than its current approx. 75% for dems, or he knows they will lose Florida.
