Suppose you need a quick drink or a plate to put some food on. But the only one available is in the sink "ready to be washed"

    What would you do?

This Poll is multiple anwers - please check all that would apply

If it's in the dishdrain drying, I'll take it, dry it and use it. If it's in the sink, it will get washed - and usually whatever else is in there gets washed then as well. I don't think we've ever used up all of the dishes at once! :)

But then again, there's paper. I keep paper on hand for when we don't want to have to wash a dish.

The true problem is that our kitchen sinks are petri dishes of germs. I'd rather have a cup that sat on the toilet seat than in the sink. I will bleach my sink regularly and twice a day spray it down with an antibacterial/antifungal spray. But anything that sits in there must be washed well with HOT water (this is where gloves come in handy although my hands are getting used to the temperature) and then left to dry in the dish drain - or it is all put into the dishwasher on sanitary wash. I'm really not a germaphobe but knowing how dirty sinks are, I'm washing. :)

this is never a problem at our house...dirty dishes do not sit in my sink. Even as I'm cooking I wash what I'm using as I use it. And Ann, I don't know what's in your sink, but mine is CLEAN.

And you missed the obvious answer, Salty. Tell the little woman to get off her duff and wash a plate for you. :tonofbricks:

Now that is the best answer yet.
I like to keep as many germs around as possible, you can never build up your immune system enough. :saint:

I voted for the cat.

Seriously, I would simply wash the plate, how difficult is that?

C-rats don't require the use of a plate. P38 blisters hurt.

Just for you guys, tonight I took a bowl out of the sink that I had used earlier in the day, ran a little water around in it and used it to hold some salsa to have with chips.

No, and I'm not a germ freak either but stomach illnesses are not fun. If I can prevent the obvious ones, then I will. It's also why I wash my hands regularly with regular soap (not antibacterial).
