This is the reward for those who do not follow the laws of the land; play nice with others; and just plain don't care!

What a shame to see our national values and morals, and the values and morals of the world decline to such a point that the lawbreakers and terrorists are rewarded for their reprehensible acts.

And, before you argue with me about illegal aliens not being reprehensible, let me just offer this to you.

    • Illegal's cross this nations borders, knowlingly breaking laws.
    • They come here and drive on our roads [paid for by our taxes] without licenses and insurance.
    • Their children attend our schools, taxing the services of children of legal taxpaying citizens, by overcrowding our schools, and making it necessary to hire teachers and staff to speak languages that afford them an education in their native tongues.
    • Many go on public assistance and use our medical facilities, again passing on the costs to us who have to pay higher premiums and fees to cover the cost of providing free medical services.
    • They take jobs legal citizens should have, put greedy employers would rather pay less in wages to illegals; so legal citizens go on welfare, again taxing the system to near bankruptcy.
    • They refuse to learn the customs of Americans and refuse to assimilate, in turn making many Americans the minority to illegal aliens!
    • They think they can move to the front of every line they get in, because the government doesn't have the guts and internal fortitude to enforce the laws on the books.

And I'm positive others will have additional things I've overlooked in the above list!

There is very little that can be said in favor of those who have come here without properly applying for citizenship. And no one on this board can tell me that if the tables were reversed, and you went to China, Mexico, Brazil, Malasia, Saudi Arabia [for instance], etc., without properly getting that nation's approval; you'd be arrested and deported, if not jailed, for your undesired act and illegal act. For sure, you'd not be granted the privilege of free medical care, social security, driving on their roads without license and insurance, sending your children to their schools, etc., as we do for those who are here illegally?

Just last month, the state of California, which is broke, gave 180 Mexican families, living here on work visas, brand new four bedroom, two bath mobile homes with all the trimmings. These families will be given ownership of the homes, but must sign them back over to the state should they leave or move. They received these homes, free [taxpayer's money] because the mobile home park the employers owned [jointly] was condemned and tore down. And because the employers didn't have the money to rebuild a new housing development for these green card Mexicans, the taxpayers of California shelled out nearly two hundred million dollars for buy the land, develop it, and put 180 new mobile homes there. This also includes a 75,000 square foot clubhouse, playgrounds and swimming pool. Plus each home came with a fully equipped kitchen.

One mother stated, when asked [in Spanish of course], "what a wonderful country!"

You'd not see this generosity, in any other country, towards people who were not legal citizens of that country. In truth, other countries would more than likely say to those who are not citizens of their land, "Too bad, so sad!"

What a wonderful country? No! Just a bunch of bleeding heart, liberals, spending the future of our children and their children on people who broke laws, break laws, and suck our treasury dry.

You forgot to include one point in your write up of the situation.

    Buying votes is expensive.

If you are so unhappy why don't you move to a country where you would be happier?

I suppose we should follow your example.

No other country in the world is as lax on immigration as the USA is- I've traveled pretty widely and even lived in Mexico for a number of years and I highly doubt there is another country that is as foolish on this issue as we are.

    Better Idea....

....if you, and your liberal counterparts moved to another place in the world, we could fix what's wrong in America!

Such expenditures are vote-buying by Democrats And Mexico, it should be noted, does not deal with its own southern border immigrations as stupidly; or kindly, per se.

    Again....

....When does compassion become stupidity and POOR stewardship?

We are in this "Fiscal FIASCO!" because of too much compassion and not enough wisdom. A smart government would know when to cut the ties and care for its own. However, America is such a bleeding-heart society, that it's bleeding fiscal "red" ink. :tear:

Is there someplace in the Scriptures where Jesus said it was the responsibility of the government (Rome at the time) to heal the sick or feed the hungry?

Second point. I'm sorry but I can't understand why anyone, here, would condone a portrayal of our Saviour in this manner. Maybe others see something that I just don't see. ??

I'm a little confused here. I'm all against ILLEGAL immigrants. But if these people are here on work VISAS then they're here legally, and if they are GREEN CARD holders (which is different from just being here on a work visa) then they are properly documented, legal, permanent residents of the country with all the rights and privileges equal to that of US citizens EXCEPT the right to vote.
Green card holders can even join the AFUSA, with many, if I understand correctly, even serving in combat capacity.

If they are here legally under work visas, then the blame is squarely on the California government for extending these accomodations and privileges to them and not to everyone. The CA government is guilty of, perhaps, discrimination ?

Of course, if they are ILLEGALS, then it's a whole different ball game.
    Just saying.

    Here's the Point!

...they are here legally, on work visas, however, because the mobile home park they lived in was condemned for disrepair and the owners [presumably the employers furnished the park] refused to bring the place up to code(s), the state of California stepped in and paid millions of dollars to buy newland, and purchase 180 mobile homes for these folks.

The employers should have been made to pay these costs, not the citizens of this state. Especially since we are told evry other day that the state is broke. And they needed to pass that tax increase last month or lose school programs, etc. This was a waste of money on people who the state is not legally responsible for other than giving them green card/work permits (MHO). :tear:

If the Church had been doing the job it would not have been necessary for the govt to take over.

    1. Yes, they know they are breaking laws - think just for a minute how bad your life would have to be that the risk of dying, going to jail and possibly sent back where you came from to start all over again outweighs staying where you're at

    2. They pay some taxes as they buy gas. Illegals aren't the only ones without insurance I assure you

    3. It is a strain to educate children wherever they come from. But are you suggesting we don't educate children of illegal parents? It doesn't help the situation whatsoever to endorse a policy of continued ignorance.

    4. Would you feel better if we didn't treat them, let them be sick or would you rather fund a medical missionary to treat "those people" where they came from?

    5. Illegals take jobs wherever they can get them, if legal citizens wanted them they could just as easily be paid under the table. What job does an illegal have that you want?

    6. They don't assimilate because they have to keep to themselves or risk being deported. Didn't used to be this way, growing up there was a coming and going at the border. Most stay here for fear of not being allowed back in when they go home.

    7. Hand outs always bring out the lazy and undisciplined regardless of race.

So what you're saying is if you're poor in your poor country, it's okay to break the laws of a richer country and citizens of the richer country should just look the other way because you're poor.

Because the bottom line here is laws.

Some senator said, if he were poor from a poor country he would also come here illegally to try and get a better life.
Well, how is that not saying, if I were poor, then it's okay for me to break the law and rob my rich neighbor so I can feed my family.

    If I Hear Your Correctly...

...it is perfectly acceptable for my wife and I to invade my neighbor's home, take it over and live there simply because we are poorer than they are, and they have the quality of life I always dreamt of.

That sounds like "envy" to me and envy, like coming across our borders illegally, is breaking a law [Biblically or statutory].

You said, "If I hear You Correctly"..

That was what I was "hearing", too.

If I live on the wrong side of the tracks, it's OK for me to cross those tracks and take from those on the other side.

In the summer when it's hot, it's OK for me to cross the tracks, climb over a fence and go swimming in their pool, because there isn't one in my backyard.

I don't need to go to their front door and ask permission to use their pool.

It's acceptable to raid the refrigerator in their pool house.

If I break my leg on the diving board, these "rich folks" should pay for my medical care.

Since I brought my whole family across the tracks, these pool owners should provide swimming lessons for my children, as well.

How long do you think I'd get away with that before those pool owners call the police to escort me off their property?

    Exodus 20: KJB
17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

    Billwald wrote:
Show me one place in the scriptures where the church, members of the body of Christ, are required to support healthy able bodied men to have the standard of living that they expect. Whether legally or illegally residing in this country.

Are the sick, lame, infirm, and starving climbing those border fences and crossing miles of desert on foot? How often do we see news footage of extended abdomen's below ribcages that look like skeletons of starving bodies originating in Mexico, for example? Or, from any other country represented by those illegally crossing the tracks for a "better life"?

Are resources (from any source) being diverted from those who truly need help to survive to those who covet the property and lifestyle of their neighbors? Whether across the tracks, border, or across a property line. When the government takes from my pocket and gives it to whom they select to benefit, that robs me of the choice to personally give that money where it can serve our Lord to "help widows and orphans".

    FWIW...........

I grew up, dirt poor, on the wrong side of the tracks, economically speaking. Grew up on a share-cropper farm in the rural south. Spent many days in the fields from sunup to sundown. Ate many meals that were the equivalent of beans and rice because that was all my parents could afford to put on the table. Wore hand-me-downs and items from $1 bags of thrift store clothing. Broke ice in the water bucket many mornings because there was no heat in the house until a fire was built in a tin heater. Or made a trip to the well to draw a fresh bucket of water.

I know what it's like to be among the have-nots. I also know that it's wrong to break laws just because hand-me-down's are not good enough. That simply because I'm a human being I'm entitled to swim in my neighbor's pool just because he has one and I don't.

There's one thing my parents provided that was priceless, IMO. To be thankful for our blessings instead of looking over the tracks with envy of our neighbors. To be thankful that we had a roof over our heads, as many in the world didn't have one. To be thankful that we had food on the table, as many in the world were starving. To be thankful that we had clothes on our backs and shoes on our feet. Again, many in the world were near naked and barefoot, regardless of the season of the year.

And to thank God, that because of His blessings, we were able to help people around us who were less fortunate than we were. Often saw my parents give surplus from the garden to those who needed food. Same thing when my mother gave milk and homemade butter from our cow. And, when my father would cut a chunk from a ham in the smokehouse. Even as a child, I understood the potential that in the future our larder could be empty, too. Yet, they gave, freely, from their hearts.

And, there's one more piece of what my parents gave to me that was priceless. Let's see if I can say this somewhat diplomatically ....... nope....

"I'll give someone, in need, the shirt off my back, but if they try to steal it, I'll shoot them."

Illegally crossing the border to take from the legal residents of this country is stealing.
