I see this policy posted when discussing a relevant issue as discussed in the Bible

"2. Use discretion when posting. Not all topics are beneficial or edifying to the board. Topics and/or posts that would condone racism, every form of greed, selfishness, and vice, and all forms of sexual immorality, including but not limited to adultery, homosexuality, and pornography are strictly prohibited. The decision to deem a thread or post inappropriate will remain at the discretion of the Webmaster or his designee. Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; 13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ."

And you consider this a "Baptist" Board? Folks this is exactly how we are losing families in the church and our youth. Be afraid to talk about relevant issues that effect the faith.

And yet you agreed to abide by these rules when you signed up. Those things are indeed primarily for families and local churches to discuss.

But please note the word in bold below

No need to go so soon. Glad to see you are in school working on Biblical studies. Do you plan to preach? Be a missionary? Come on out to Japan. We have about a dozen independent Baptists on our island of Hokkaido, and could always use more. :wavey:

I don't really think the Baptist distinctives apply to an Internet forum for Baptists like this one. They are meant for churches. So I don't think you need to feel this way about obeying the rules. You would obey the rules in a restaurant or Walmart without feeling they have to be Baptist.

Thanks John. Plus the rule quoted forbids posts that condone those behaviours.

Which thread are you questioning please? We can have a look.

This particular complaint was about the misunderstanding of the rule quoted prohibiting threads condoning the various topics.

Of course we don't want people here condoning sinful lifestyles. I think jcgordon simply overlooked the word condone as C4K already mentioned.

Standards are good. They maintain the integrity of this site.

Jcgordon, Why would you want to have your membership deleted over this? I bet 90% of the folks here have misread/misinterpreted something posted on this board. Some of us (me:cool:) more than others.

I did not see any comment from a member condoning the various topics mentioned.
The OP did not condone the topic, either, though he did have a link to an external site about a "Christian" named Marsha who is a practicing lesbian.
Would that qualify as indirectly condoning the topic ?
As for the other site, you're an administrator, I suppose part of your function is to monitor the threads, do I have to point you to it ?
nevertheless, since you asked, here it is.

If you think this is in violation of the rules please report it to the moderators of that forum. If I were making a determination I would leave the thread because

    1) It does not condone h0m0sexuality
    2) It discusses the legality of g@y marriage, not the sin of h0m0sexuality

I am sure that this is what happened - sad to see him leave over that.

no sense doing that when an adminisrator has already said they're OK, is there ?
Again, that thread closed which the member was citing was NOT ITSELF condoning homosexuality or gay marriage.
who knows what direction posters would've taken if the thread had been left until it is seen that it was going south of where BB would want it headed.
    Dropping the matter.
    Bowing to your wisdom.
