The contention that Romney lost because he lacked conservative support is wrong.

Perhaps it is disconcerting for those who are hard line when it comes to mixing their Christian faith with right wing Republican politics that Romney lost in spite of the money and effort conservatives contributed to his campaign. But it is the reality. Personally, it would be much more productive, as well as refreshing, for this to be the event that put conservative evangelicals back on the path of a biblical mission and purpose, instead of a political one, but there's so much money invested in people like Ralph Reed that they are going to continue to beat the dead horse as long as it produces for them.

The Bible is pretty clear that the church's mission and purpose will not be accomplished by political means, through worldly power. Put those resources in to preaching the gospel, and things will change.

Romney lost because he was about the worst candidate the republican party could have nominated. And besides it seems to me that the majority of republicans are more interested in defeating democrats than putting a conservative in the WH. Romney's nomination itself should be proof enough of that.

Let's face it, America has changed, we are a land of Takers instead of Makers. The Takers vote for whoever gives them their goods and the Democrats do very well at that. I don't think Jesus Himself could have beat Obama, unless of course He did so supernaturally..lol

I disagree. In this day and age Reagan would have lost to Obama. The country is not salvageable.

Maybe but that remains to be seen. I'm a bit more hopeful of the future. The takers are in for a rude awakening.

It is not wrong. Conservatives did not show up to vote. Liberals, like the individual that posted the op like to pretend, disingenuously I might add, that the right mixes politics with religion in the wrong way all the while ignoring that left leaning Christians are no different. Liberals want so badly to believe the whole world thinks like they do. Its delusional at best.

Truth is we should include God in all we do to include politics. And Christians should be a loud voice as anyone else.

Jesus didn't win over the hearts and minds of His followers by constantly beating people over the head with His superior morality. Just sayin.

Conservatives showed up, according to not only Pew research, but in the other credible polling data, in larger numbers than ever.

Maybe you need to go back and reread your own link. That is not what it says.

Romney lost for several reasons. The first reason is that Republicans learned nothing from the 2008 election when they nominated McCain, anything but conservative. They did not work for a Constitutional, conservative nominee, sat in their chairs and stared at the computer, and waited for the system to produce a nominee, and it did, Romney. His record in Massachusettes and religion (right or wrong) were factors in his defeat. He also was successfully painted by liberals as out of touch with the middle class. On a stragetic level, many states were not even contested, and most of all, the ratios of various minority groups was grossly underestimated.

    1. They could have picked a stronger candidate, but I do not know who that might have been.
    2. But the primary reason they lost was they declared war on just about every minority group, except for the rich. You cannot expect a group to vote for you when you continually insult them or attempt to pass laws that harm them.
    3. The far right wing is given too much influence and this hurt them as the far right was responsible for item #2.
    4. They, the GOP, were seen as obstructionist by many in that they objected to everything Obama recommended ... even to ideas they had pushed for under Bush. This has continued. Just the other day Mitch McConnell proposed an up or down vote, thinking the Democrats would reject the idea. They agreed and suddenly he was against his own idea and filibustered against it. Pretty pathetic when a person is opposed and filibusters when they just proposed.

Romney, when all is said and done, just drew his breath in relief and practically said, "boy, am i glad that's over".
he did not demand that the military vote be properly counted, he did not demand an investigation on the sprouting allegations of computer fraud, he did not demand an investigation on voter fraud.
he just said, "hey, barry, you won man. you got me there, okay, you can have them all. nice job."
so now the impression is that conservatives are sour grapes, because, hey, the candidate himself had no comment.
maybe nothing would have come out of all those complaints and b*tch*ngs but at least people will NOTICE something's just not right here. The butt smooching MSM's will have no choice but cover the stories.
and NEXT TIME, people will be more vigilant.
because, if I may repeat the phrase, when all is said and done, I STILL have faith that the American voters are intelligent and would not exchange their future for a lousy, deadbeat cellphone, or cast their vote on somebody who had nothing to offer from the beginning but a pretty boy image, and an appeal to the political correctness complex of today's America.
    OBAMA LOST.
    He manipulated this election.
His goons played the race card.
Speaking of which, if the idiot GOP had put in ALLEN WEST in place of Cain or Romney, maybe these elections could have been played on platforms and merit.
    Allen West.
    Now, THERE's a man.

The stories that have sprung up about the "military vote" are fascinating, in so far as that they make those who believe them look like they don't know what they are talking about. Sometimes ignorance is bliss, but most of the time, it is pathetic.

A more conservative candidate nominated by the Republican party would have simply meant a larger margin of victory for the President. Conservatives got as big a turnout as they could get in this election. Every credible poll and analysis shows that. What you are seeing is the result of years of secular humanist influence over the public education system. It's the way things are.

Not so. I could have said in December 2008, next time the people will be more vigilant. They had a lack luster, liberal candidate in 2008, and repeated the same mistake in 2012. The conservatives sat on their lazy butts, did nothing, and let the same thing happen again. They are still lazy, and the same thing will happen in 2016. Conservatives, or better yet, Republicans, got just what they deserved, the reelection of Obama.
