    willing to say this ?

attributed to the Australian Prime Minister. was posted on my timeline in FaceBook but had no link to the actual speech. However, if this is truly her speech on behalf of her countrymen, I am so GREEN, GREEN, GREEN with ENVY for the US.

Perhaps if we have Governor Jan Brewer as president this could happen!! I see so many Mexicans who cannot speak any english here in the south part of Texas. Racial profiling has replaced upholding the LAW!

    There is no leader at the federal level that would make such a statement for two reasons;
    1. They are all spineless
    2. They are too busy rolling up their sleeves going to work for the American people working on the fiscal cliff

She probably expresses the sentiments of a nation fed up and po'd...good for them.

This is a seven year old story that keeps popping up. Oririhginally it was attributed to PM John Howard, and even then it was embellished.

I don't reckon I need a link since there was none in the OP?

I don't care who said it or where it was said or when it was said.

We need leaders of this country to say the very same thing, TODAY.

We need CITIZENS of this country to say the very same thing, TODAY.

Sadly, it won't happen, for all the reasons that are debated on this board.

God have mercy on us all.

please note at the bottom of the quote, I wrote:
and like Old Timer said, don't matter who said it when, where. It's something strong leaders should be saying anytime their traditional and historical values and principles are attacked.

In this country, they would be called raciest & demonized

And John Howard left office shortly after he made the original, much tamer version of this speech.

It is an amalgamation of a lot of thoughts and comments from several sources with embellishments along the way.

Maine's new governor Paul LePage is a definite possibility (do a google "outspoken Paul LePage").

IOW, no one really said that. I know some don't like Snopes but I refuse to forward things until I snope it out first. Why further a lie?

I agree - however in this case the sentiments expressed are pretty close to how an amalgamation of Australian officials feel about Muslim immigrants, even though the words were not said, especially in one speech.
