I put down both "nice clothes" and "jeans and t-shirt". It really depends. Most of the time I am in a pair of slacks and either a blouse or sweater. In the winter if the weather is bad (like it is snowing or about to snow or just snowed or there is a lot of ice), I can also be found wearing a nice pair of trouser jeans, boots and a sweater. It's the same kind of thing I'd wear out on a date with my husband if we were going to dinner.

I will always wear black pants, white blouse and a black jacket for a funeral (or my sweater that looks like I'm wearing a blouse under it). I wear this with a pair of flats since I'm usually doing a lot of running around at church for funerals.

But when I go to work at church on Fridays, I just might be in my yoga pants and a nice sweatshirt - or a pair of shorts (longer shorts - I hate how I look in shorter shorts), a nice t-shirt and a pair of flippies. :) It depends on how I'm feeling, where we're going afterwards and if I have other work to do than just the computer.

So basically, I wear what is appropriate.

Jeans or Dockers. Chamois or flannel shirts in the colder months; polos or a Hawaiian shirt during the two months of summer.

Always a skirt and blouse with a head covering. There is quite a strict dress code, after all one should not go to visit the house of the King of kings wearing say gumboots, jeans and a checked shirt.

Winter can cover a multitude of dress with a good coat. I adore snoods and wear them mostly.

You won't get chucked out but the gimlet gaze of the dress nazis bore into you. Of course, if you go to Mass directly from work....that is okay. I use to stagger in after a night shift or a double shift in all my work clobber:thumbs:

    I wear what I want.
Sometimes its jeans and a polo, or button down shirt. Sometimes slacks and polo or button down shirt. I have several ties and wear them often. I have 3 suits, all gifts, that I wear for special occasions.

Nothing really changes when I preach unless it's as a visitor. If preaching in a church I am not familiar with I will ask what the normal attire is so my clothing choice is not an unnecessary distraction.

I always wear clothes. Fig leaves went out of style several thousand years ago.

Today I'm wearing a fleece v-neck shirt, a pair of denim trouser jeans and wool clogs. It's chilly. :)

Of course this is pretty much what I'm doing all day: :type: I'm working on the computers at church.

Dress slacks and a nice blouse or sweater, occasionally a skirt or dress. Sometimes dressy jeans, but never tee shirt or sweat shirt. Our church is very casual. Most men don't wear suits, and many of us ladies wear slacks.

Tennis shoe story alert: I don't wear shorts in the summer but will wear a pair of all white New Balance sneakers. After a summer service Mrs. Blowhard came up to me to scold me for setting a bad example for her 13 year old son she had next to her with her arm around him. I replied, "A bad example? Like the Budweiser T-shirt he's wearing?"

    I think they became Episcopalians.

Several years ago my sons got me 2 ties with the different Simpson's characters on them. I wore one to church the next Sunday. I had a "Mrs. Blowhard" come up to me and lecture me on the tie. I asked her if she had ever seen the Simpsons. She said, "No, and that doesn't matter." Then she huffed at me and stalked off.

Whatever. We can't dress to please everyone.

The Simpsons caused us more sleepless nights when my oldest was a baby than she did!! They used to do the audio on my husband's digital audio recorder and whenever they would have a question, they would call us. At home. We live in NY. They live in CA. They usually mixed late into the night. For years I wouldn't get scared when the phone rang at 2 or 3 am because I knew it was the audio engineers. That was early on with the product when they were still working out the bugs. :)
