Law enforcement officials from a New York region where a local paper published a map identifying gun owners say prisoners are using the information to intimidate guards.

Rockland County Sheriff Louis Falco, who spoke at a news conference flanked by other county officials, said the Journal News' decision to post an online map of names and addresses of handgun owners Dec. 23 has put law enforcement officers in danger.

"They have inmates coming up to them and telling them exactly where they live. That's not acceptable to me," Falco said, according to Newsday.

Liberals do not care about the consequences of their actions. They only care about their agenda.

Doesn't really matter all that much, Rev.

Full names of correctional officers are available online. From there , it's not all that hard to come up with an address.

The real problem is the THREAT. States and counties need to further prosecute those that make such threats.

Maybe, but there's no reason to do half the work for the thugs.

Agreed. But in the end, it really doesn't matter. COs should all carry a weapon full time when not actually at work. They can be attacked anywhere anytime by a former inmate carrying a grudge.

Along those lines, COs are now cautioned about who they friend on social websites like facebook. Inmates are using facebook to compromise the officers. Some are losing their jobs because of it.
