Has anyone seen or going this movie and does it stay pretty close to the historical account? Looks interesting. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0443272/ Seems politically charged!

I'll probably get it on DVD. I don't go to theaters.

I've heard it was very good and accurate and so I plan to bring my son to see it. He's 12 and we're studying the Civil War. It will count as a school day. :)

Saw it and loved it. Lincoln's very historically accurate and focuses on a fairly neglected part of President Lincoln's administration. All the political manuevering was very enjoyable, my only objection to it is that it could have used a few more battle scenes considering it was coming from Mr. Spielberg.

I've not seen it, but have heard that the language (vulgarity) is pretty rough. True?

Yes, my wife and I went to see Lincoln on New Years Eve night. It was almost three hours and very historically accurate. It also provided some great insight into the wheeling and dealing that went on getting the 13th Amendment passed. Needless to say, the Congress has changed very little.

As far as the rough language, to tell the truth, there must not have been a lot, because I just do not remember it. Of course, I was rivited to the plot. It was not my purpose in going to the movie as Baptist Purebread and be a language critic.

What is with this "I never go to theatres?" Is that some new man made ritual that makes God smile? We go to the theatre an average of once a year, but there is certainly nothing wrong with it. Just what we need, another do or don't.
