But in Oregon, Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller wrote a letter to Biden Monday saying his department will not enforce any new gun laws it considers unconstitutional.

Mueller said politicians are "attempting to exploit the deaths of innocent victims" by supporting laws that would harm law-abiding Americans. The sheriff said he took an oath to support the Constitution, and laws preventing citizens from owning certain semi-automatic firearms and ammunition magazines would violate their rights.

"We are Americans," Mueller wrote. "We must not allow, nor shall we tolerate, the actions of criminals, no matter how heinous the crimes, to prompt politicians to enact laws that will infringe upon the liberties of responsible citizens who have broken no laws.

Good for him. Maybe we will have gun law amnesty zones popping up all over the country, like we have illegal alien amnesty zones.

If local law enforcement refuses to enforce the law, they leave the feds with little choice but to take over their department.

Never let a chance to sue your own people for doing your job go to waste.

Can you site where in the Constitution the federal government is authorized to take over a local police department?

I believe we will do what we see on TV news and read (if one can comprehend what one reads) in the papers or entertainment magazines. The news media can control a nation. I believe that educators and media have the most influence on the average person.
You know the old gun fight at the OK corral, they had two papers in town and they each wrote the story from the opposite view of the other.
We are at a point in our country that you aren't anyone or less you are a victim, so the press will push this for a while.
My question is what do we do when the federal government does not enforce federal law? Nothing is all I see. Az. and a few other states are bad guys for wanting the law enforce. The media has been more positive to the feds on immigration or the feds lack of enforcement and more anti Az., so we read more often that the feds are the good guys and we are reading the same on this matter.

The federal government can't force the states to enforce federal regulations.

I might be wrong, but I believe they did with the 55 MPH, if you didn't go along you lost tax dollars. There is more than one way to skin a rabbit they say.

    It's a civil rights issue.

It is the democrats siding with the anti-gun movement. Telling you you don't need your guns & ammo. That's the democrats.

Like they told Rosa Parks she didn't need to sit in the front of the bus.

And they've done a whole lot of skinning.

    Transportation, as you noted.
Education - take my money and take prayer out of schools.
Medicine/Arts/Research/Environment - take my monies and follow my rules
Social Security & Medicare - make you dependent on me.

The list can go on since the government has skinned enough cats to have a say in every aspect of our lives. Including the very air we breathe.
