Mayor Rahm Emanuel is taking his gun control push to private banks and asking major lenders in Chicago to stop doing business with firearms manufacturers.

In a letter to TD Bank and Bank of America on Thursday, Mr. Emanuel asked the CEOs to force gun manufacturers they do business with to “find common ground with the vast majority of Americans who support a military weapons and ammunition ban.”

    CONTINUE . . .

Last time I checked the vast majority of Americans were buying up guns and ammo so fast the dealers couldn't keep them on the shelves and the manufacturers couldn't keep up with demand.

Rahm needs to find common ground with the reality on the ground.

Rahm is a radical leftist. There is no "common" ground for them!

Apparently he thinks reality is whatever he says it is.

Chicago is a veritable war zone. Rahm has got to do something.

He is doing something. He's attacking one of the few businesses left in the nation that is growing and creating jobs, outside of government.

Guns aren't the problem. Idiots who think passing anti-gun laws will solve the problem are the problem.

Rahm isn't an anti gun idiot. On the contrary he is a very shrewd politician that has said "You never want a serious crisis to go to waste". The last thing he wants to do is solve a crisis like rampant crime in Chicago that he can use to increase government control over the people.

We shouldn't be looking at these gun grabbers as idiots. They know more guns = less crime but less crime is the last thing they want. They want more crime and bigger body counts so they can use them to grab more power and they want us to think they are idiots. The more people who think of them as idiots the less people will question their true motives.

Rahm isn't the only politician that has said "you never want a serious crisis to go to waste". Hillary Clinton has said it and so has Gary Hart.

These people love high crime rates and crisis like mass shootings. They look at them as opportunities. The last thing they want to do is avoid another opportunity "to do the things they could not do before".

Often used in a power grab in third world or banana republics and we are well on the way!

Yes we are and it's about time we stopped falling for the "doh we're so stupid" routine from politicians.

Here's another one that would like us to believe he's stupid . . .

“You have an individual right to own a weapon both for recreation, for hunting and also for your self-protection,” he said. "But just as you don’t have an individual right to go out and buy an F-15—if you’re a billionaire—with ordnance on it, just like you don’t have the right to buy an M-1 tank, just like you don’t have a right to buy an automatic weapon" you should not be able to get other weapons for which there is "no reasonable societal justification, or constitutional justification." Joe Biden

You don't get to be second in command of a "super power" by being stupid. Joe knows there are societal as well constitutional justifications for owning a semi auto rifle but it's to his benefit if we believe he's too stupid to know that. So don't let ole Joe keep foolin ya OR he ain't as dumb as he lets on.

Good point. But the shrewd ones need some idiots to follow them or they won't get the votes that they need.

There's no shortage of idiots that will follow them that's for sure.

It has been one as long as I've been pulling in and out of there. I stopped doing business in places like Chicago, St. Louis, New Orleans, Detroit, Newark and parts of NYC due to the danger.
So much of it is what the local people will put up with and how much they will put into cleaning up their cities.
