    World Net Daily @ http://www.wnd.com/2013/01/massive-number-of-u-s-cities-abandon-bible/ has reported on a study of the number of U.S. cities that have abandon the Bible.

    From the article,

    "In times of trouble, many people often wonder, “Oh, God. Where are you when I need you most?”

    But with the nation facing drastic financial and social challenges in recent years, a new study ranking American support for the Holy Bible reveals an astounding 91 out 96 U.S. cities – a whopping 95 percent – are not “Bible-minded.”

    An interesting article to say the least and an otherwise sad commentary for a nation that once put God and His Word first. Is it any wonder we've fallen? Perhaps Jesus will come today.

    Amos 8: KJB
    11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord:

    12 And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it.

    That glorious sunrise may not be very far away.

    Sometimes I think about switching our den to a room with east facing windows. So this old timer's tired eyes wouldn't miss a moment of that breaking dawn, if He comes before He calls me home. Perhaps, He will come in the spring, when it's warm enough to be standing on the front porch instead of looking out windows.

    Amen, Brother. Wouldn't that be glorious?

    I do not believe even for a moment that this country ever put God first. The truth is very few who claim to be Christian ever place God first in there miserable lives. The Majority has always been the enemy of God from it's very beginning. Even scripture states the way to God is straight and narrow and few there be that find it. I love this country and I've been part of it all of my life. Yet I'm ashamed when I hear men call this country a Christian Nation. The USA is far from it.

    Everyone keeps trying to claim Christianity as it's foundation. If this were so it would still be a Godly Nation. This country was founded on Masonic principles. Even George Washington was a Mason and indeed the Masons are why this country is the way that it is.

    I don't think we are a Christian nation now either, but I don't believe that the Masonic principles formed this nation, but let's say it's true. Where did they get their principles? There are some out of print books out there that some are bringing back that give the true founding of this country. Masons did have something to do with it, but Christianity was the foundation. If the Lord doesn't end this debacle in the next 20 years, all mention of anything Christian will finally be eradicated.

    Let me ask you something: was the Mayflower Compact written with Masonic principles? What about all our other founding documents? I would like to see proof that the Masons controlled this country.

    Would say that America has never been a nation in covenant relationship with God as OT Isreal was, but that the basi cprinciples of our constitution and laws were indeed taken in opart from the bible, and thatour Moral foundation for things like schooling/culture/churches etc were distinctly christian!

    just look back say 40-50 years, as the society had much more solid views regarding homosexuality, God in public school, Movies with treatment of God etc!

    You could be onto something. Last year while watching some old westerns one of my grand kids was down and we were watching Wagon Train and a few other old western type TV shows and she said she couldn't believe the amount of Bible reading and preaching done on those old shows. I never watched much TV or went to movies very often so most of these shows are new to me. I'm not saying Ward Bond or any of these other actors were Christians because I don't know but the Bible, preachers and Christians were shown so often in a positive light. So I do believe that Christians views had a big influence on this country, not that we ever were a Christian nation.

    Bob, I watched Wagon Train and those other old 50's TV shows when they first aired. After a day's work on the farm, usually our only "entertainment" was to watch some TV before going to bed. (ONE B&W that could receive 3 stations some of the time.)

    Not only was was the "Bible, preachers and Christians were shown so often in a positive light". Moral standards for all TV programs were high. Lucy and Desi bedroom scenes included twin beds. Jeannie couldn't show her belly button. The list of words that couldn't be said on broadcast TV was a long one. A clear distinction between those wearing black and white hats was drawn. A gent and his lady rode off into the sunset instead of being followed wherever they went next.

    As time moved on, the limits were tested and the moral bars lowered, step by step. As soft porn, vulgar language and etc. moved in while the Bible and positive aspects of Christians was shoved out.

    In comparison, even the local evening news and weather, of today, would have been shunned by Christians when I was a kid. There's no doubt that my parents would have turned off the TV rather than letting their children watch what's on the news this morning.

    There is, indeed, a marked contrast when comparing programming over the last 60 years. Wish that more Christians could become aware of what's been lost. :tear:

    Looking Upward...!

    OT...This just brings me right back to one of my favorite and oft quoted passages in the Word of God...Titus 2:11-14

    11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
    12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
    13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
    14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

    Our purpose is to glorify our great God...and look for His glorious appearing. The longer I live the more weary of this world I become. Our ONLY hope is in the Lord. This world has nothing of any real lasting value to offer any of us who know the Lord.

    I can remember as a boy the store's and shops closed down on Sunday. No one worked the fields or anything except work of necessity. Lost people had respect for christians, now christians don't have respect for one another unless they believe alike. IMO more communications among all people is part of the problem. God solved the problem one time when he tore down the tower of Babel and confounded their language

    Those on the Mayflower did not form this country. They were all long dead before this country was formed by at least 100 years. These masonic principles came from the practice of occult. Even the city of DC is layed out in a pentagram. A Satanic symbol. One proof for sure is that just about every president has been a mason. George Bush is a card carring member of the skull and bones sociatey and a 32nd degree Mason. So is Clinton and both of the Bushes. Carter was and so was Regan, Nixon and Eisenhower. Masons swear an oath to there masonic brotherhood which would make them traitors of the United States. They will and do forsake all else for there brotherhood. I'm sorry that does not sound Christian to me.

    I guess you missed American History in your studies. Another conspiracy theorist. Great. No use talking to you guys, because God is weak in your view and overpowered by a bunch of Masons. Sheesh
