I can answer that. First it is true that homosexuality gets more attention than the others. It is untrue that those other things get ignored.

But the reason homosexuality gets so much attention is because it has become a political agenda.

It is being forced on children in our public schools.

Any disagreement with homosexuality is met with hostility.

Homosexuality is being presented as a civil rights issue.

The other things are not being treated that way.

Given those facts the attention homosexuality gets is a result of the homosexual community not the church.

Please look at the top of the thread of this forum where you will find a couple of "sticky" threads. One of them reads this way.

BB Posting Rule Number 2 states:

The BB Webmaster graciously allowed an exception to this rule by providing that topics dealing with human sexuality could be discussed only in either the Women’s or Men’s Private Forum depending on the gender of the person making the OP.

Likewise, the User Agreement Paragraph Three (located directly below the list of BB Posting Rules) states:

This thread should be moved. However it will be watched closely for the time being, and if it goes astray will be quickly closed.

Where should the thread be moved too and why is this a concern?

I don't believe that this is a sexual topic as it is a Biblical and civil topic. There is a group of people that define themselves by their desires and seek to find acceptance in our culture. The Bible calls those desires wrong and the acting on those desires an outright sin. What makes me sad is that we as a church are either to choose to embrace it, thus leaving the holy Scriptures or not embrace it and be misunderstood for what we truly believe in.

ALL HAVE SINNED means that none of us escape from sin. My sin was not attraction to women but I have many other sins. I am no better a person than someone who has homosexual attractions and my sin sent Jesus to the cross as much as anyone else's sin did. But the key is that I don't seek to normalize my sin - get it accepted and even made a special category to receive special rights. Instead, I see it for what it is, repent of it and seek to put it behind me and no longer entertain it.

But the world sees that as wrong. The Bible sees it as right. So there will always be a conflict.

Ann you are right when you state homosexuals try to normalize their sin; even worse they try to get the church to accept it. That is why homosexual sin gets more attention in the church. We don't see adulterous men and women demanding the church accept this as the way they were born or a thief as stating he cannot change.

Its always been about affirmation. And they will be affirmed if they have to corece it. Look at all the pro homosexual hate crime laws and anti-discrimination law etc. All designed to compel acceptance and silence from opponents.

All to protect a sexual relationship that is 100% sterile.

I’m seeing something else too, with the polygamy angle.

8 or 10 years ago, when the question first arose, time and time again when I (or anyone else) suggested that same-sex marriage would lead to polygamy, my pro-gay friends would insist that such a thing was ridiculous. Never happen. Don’t be absurd.

But now? Trying that argument again and those same friends are all “so what?” and “why not?” and many even support the idea of legalizing polygamy. No big deal at all. Look at the tv programs that present polygamy as being something mis-understood, ie: Sister Wives

But ironically they all still reject the idea of the “slippery slope”.

I even heard people saying "Whatever two people agree to is fine with me." When I asked about brother and sister, they said "Who am I to tell people they can't love each other? They are consenting adults." When asked about father/daughter; mother/son; etc, they had the same answer.

You people are so intolerant!!! Just kidding! The hypocrisy of accusing Christians of not accepting their perverted lifestyle while they show no toleration's for Christians with convictions!

Well our marvellous legislators have just voted to legalise 'gay marriage' in the UK. What next? Incestuous 'marriages'? Three-some 'marriages'?

A very sad day for the UK:tear:

Yep--"You Christians better be tolerant...OR ELSE!"
    (Very Orwellian.)

Indeed. When one group attempts to redefine marriage, who are they to limit another group's further redefinition? Once it's redefined, anything goes. :BangHead:

It is an argument made that ignores the political agenda behind the homosexual movement. It also ignores the very severe consequences of homosexuality.

Curious, how long do you think it will be before our wonderful govt legalizes gay marriage and makes it illegal to speak out against it from the pulpit? It already is happening in Canada, are we next? How many Pastors will go to jail to stand up for the truths of scripture?

It's frustrating, isn't it? It's legal here in NY as well and it saddens me but doesn't surprise me. What's next? Yeah. Whatever makes one "happy" will be what's next.

With what other sin or "lifestyle" is there a clamor to have it accepted, celebrated, and blessed by the church, other than this one?

I guess ANY--the LGBTQXYZ agenda wants EVERYONE to accept them and tell them their lifestyle is okay and 'normal'. And a few 'churches' already have (ex TEC, UCC...)

OTOH, they don't want anyone telling them that what they are doing is sinful--that's "HATE speech", you know.

The propaganda campaign is ubiquitous. Just last night on the JEOPARDY TEEN Tournament (of all shows) there was a question regarding Maryland legalizing "Adam and Steve"s "right" to get married.

    I meant church generically.

There is a move to get this lifestyle accepted by all the denominations, especially the mainline ones, and many have done so.
