Pastor apologizes for role in prayer vigil after Connecticut massacre

    From what I read, I see nothing to apologize for, except for going against his denomination requirements.
    I'm glad I'm not part of a denomination - as a SBC pastor, and I see fit to be involved in joint service, I would do so - and would not apologize for bringing the gospel to those who need it.

    Not hearing the prayer, one could say that "the Muslim joined the Christian" in prayer, yes?

    No. The pastor was right for apologizing for seeming to unite Christ with baal.

    I was wondering when I started reading the Yahoo link if it was a Missouri Lutheran? They have a rule that they are not to do things like that. One almost got fired a few years ago for going to a 9/11 event in Yankee Stadium and praying. The Lutherans consider this activity syncretistic, or something like that. That preacher in Conn. had to apologize or he would have been fired.
