    Romania reminds me of Ky in many ways ( a couple decades ago at least). My SIL is from there, his grandpararents are up in their late 80s & 90s and still going strong, working the fields and tending the livestock, I've been particualrly interested in the fermented foods they preserve and consume, I believe that has a lot to do with their longevity (living close to the land and eating their naturally preserved fermented foods, etc.), just MHO.

    I have photos too, but none on photobucket [yet].

    Lacto (bacteria, not yeasts) fermentation, as in sour kraut, pickles, sausages, cheese, buttermilk, kefir, kvass, cured meats, etc....

    I plan on spending approximately ten days there in July 2014 for a Mana missions trip. Do you have any pics from that time of year? These are fabulous.

    Do you know what towns you will be in or near? I have never been there in the summer. But a lot like S.D or OK in some parts.

    I just got back a week ago and been fighting a virus. Probably from the flight. I did ad some pictures before I left.
