“For I am the LORD, I do not change” (Malachi 3:6)

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8)

The NT church was God’s model for all churches in the future …
re: their doctrines, evangelism, starting churches, church meetings, etc.

We know what the basic gospel message is …
but the NT tells us HOW it should be presented to the heathens:

Jesus claimed that the people needed to see signs and wonders

“Then Jesus said to him, ‘Unless you people see signs and wonders,
you will by no means believe.’ ” (John 4:48)

“Therefore they said to Him, ‘What sign will You perform then,
that we may see it and believe You?’ ” (John 6:30)

So, He gave them what they needed

“And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them,
and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.” (Mark 16:20)

“And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not
written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ,
the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.” (John 20:30-31)

“… (the gospel message) was confirmed to us by those who heard Him (Jesus),
God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles,
and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will” (Hebrews 2:3-4)

Paul thought it might just be a good idea to copy Jesus

“… in mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God
… I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.” (Romans 15:19)

“… my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom,
but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be
in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.” (1 Corinthians 2:4-5)

“For our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power,
and in the Holy Spirit and in much assurance” (1 Thessalonians 1:5)

In recent years, this method has been used by many evangelists throughout the world

The LORD is especially delighted to perform His signs, wonders, and miracles (SWM)
where the people are genuinely ignorant and innocent unbelievers, e.g. heathens.
These people not only hear “THE FULL GOSPEL” properly to help them believe, but
they are also healed of a multitude of physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual problems.

The LORD is especially NOT interested in performing His SWM where the people are
steeped in UNBELIEF … for some reason the people have decided to NOT believe in SWM.

UNBELIEF in His precious word is extremely offensive to the LORD.
For this reason, His SWM are not experienced in many places in America.

Elsewhere, I received this response ...

Right, well I've also had those discussions (about SWM) and it is a bent with most baptists in the U.S.
    Not as much in Canada.
I married a baptist girl and her mother thought I was demon possessed. Her dad was cool with it.

Alright, if he doesn't change and he was once a baby in a manger, then he is eternally a baby in a manger. Correct?

Mucho thanks for da applause, but I'm too worn out tryin' to teach da Baptists to bow!

1900 years of false doctrine about God's SWM ceasing!
???? years of false doctrine about da OSAS stuff!

Difficult to teach against ... and really hard on the back!
That's the worst part of it ... can't bow any more.

You should probably let the little boy alone. He probably has some homework to do or something or maybe some chores for his mother.

Matthew 12:39 - But he answered them, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah.

-God's Word about God's actions is sufficient.

John 20:29 - Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

-Hearing and believing without seeing is sufficient.

So, if you were in Haiti, and a woman was crying to you because her son was dying of an infection from dirty water, and you couldn't heal him, would you tell her that her son is dying because of her unbelief? Even though she had been praying for weeks or months for his healing?

People often claim that if Jesus would appear in front of them they would believe. They claim that the reason they just can't believe is because they can't see Jesus or any evidence of Him.

    1. God has Already revealed himself in many ways, often visibly and miraculously.

    a. God has revealed himself in Nature: (Rom. 1:19-20) For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. 20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.
-RESPONSE: (Rom. 1:21-23) For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Claiming to be wise, they became fools, 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.

    b. Early Israel – God sent 10 plagues on Egypt, parted the red sea, sent manna from heaven, and repeatedly led them to military victory.
-RESPONSE: Only 2 spies & Moses trusted God enough to go into Canaan. Everybody else was too afraid to trust that God could lead them to victory.

    c. God revealed himself in Jesus, and Jesus did many Miracles. He taught here on earth for 3 years. He healed the crippled and made them walk, he healed and blind and made them see. He even raised people from the dead.
-RESPONSE: Many believed, but many did not.

    d. Jesus Died and rose from the dead, and appeared to over 500 witnesses.
-RESPONSE: Some believed, some did not. (Thomas)

    e. God has revealed himself in his Word.
-RESPONSE: Many have believed, many have not.

These events, found in the books of Exodus, Numbers, and the Gospels, show that God's further revealing Himself to us would have no greater effect on our ability to trust Him. For were God to interact in a similar fashion with all of the people living today, we would respond no differently than did those Israelites...our sinful hearts are the same as theirs.

    2. Man’s response to God’s revelation depends more on his heart than on God’s signs.

-->If we will not respond to God’s Word, then we would not respond to a miracle either.
Jesus even told a story of a rich man who died and went to hell. That rich man asked that the poor man be sent back to talk to his brothers so they would not end up where he was. (Luke 16:31) "He said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.'"

Sorry, boss; I do have to ask one more question

In that case, I would assume you have worship services on the Sabbath - ie Saturday AND that you practice all of the OT dietary, tithing (20+%) and other OT laws.....

Might I answer dat one, please?
    Not a Christian response ...
but a response from one who has been radically deceived by Satan and historical church leadership.
Gotta go now (again!) ... my diapers 'er wet again ... from laughin' again @ our very own revster!
He's so precious (to the deceived).

I suppose everyone should take note of just who this compatriot of yours is!

Immediately, we're startin' to work on gettin' a big milk store built next door to where he lives.
And just WHO are most famous for drinkin' milk? ... Hmmmmm.

Yes, 1800 years is more accurate.
Yes, Azuza was one of the beginnings of the 2nd fulfillment of Joel's prophecy.
Since both fulfil the prophecy, why shouldn't we call it a double prophecy?
The Lord kills multiple birds with one stone a lot in Scripture.

If you don't accept what Jesus said in my 2 passages, so be it.

From my experience ... if a person is not healed, it's usually because the person:
-- was and/or is involved in the occult
-- has now unforgiveness towards someone
Once these are sincerely repented of, 99% sure the person will now be healed.

Another hindrance is if many people involved (standing around) have a ton of UNBELIEF!
