Should Senators and Representatives be given drug tests?
If you say "yes" what should be done if an individual tests positive for an illegal substance?

Yes. At least all those who represent me. As their "employer", if they fail, they should be impeached and suffer any and all legal penalties associated with proven illegal drug activity.

Being in an elected office does not make one immune to the laws of the land regarding illegal drugs.

Further, if they were subject to the same penalties, as John Doe, perhaps they would be serious about this so called "war on drugs".

Millions and millions of dollars poured down that rat hole. Yet, known drug dealers still peddle their wares to the youth of our small community. Having said that does not mean that I put the "blame" squarely on our local police forces, either.

For drug pushers: How about a little speedy capital punishment? About a little life in prision without parole and without ability to continue to profit while in prision?

Drug house a couple or so miles from me was raided a while back and shut down. Within a few months, it was back in business and still operating today. If their suppliers were on death row, just maybe, there'd be one fewer hollow eyed person walking the streets of our small down. Just maybe, one fewer family wouldn't be torn apart by a drug addicted member. Just maybe one more 15-16 year old wouldn't be used to sell drugs because he or she is under 18.

I'm getting depressed just thinking about what's going on in our small community. And that's mild to what I understand is happening in larger population centers.

Yes, test every one of them and their staff, too. If tax dollars are supporting them, those dollars should not be supporting illegal drug activity.

    Off soapbox.........................
