What do you all spend per week on what I will call daily living expenses, which would include groceries, out to eat when one does, gas, common household items such as cleaning supplies and paper products, and toiletries. Our kids have been on their own for several years, and it seems as of late ours approaches $200 some weeks.

    That makes me crippled.

I was perturbed to be using 50+ on gas a week.

Hmmm - Let me think through this:

    Groceries/Eating out - about $150 - $200 - this includes cleaning and household supplies

Gas - approximately $50 a week or so

Two vehicles and two teenage boys here. I'd say about $150 a week on food and supplies, about $60 on gas, so about $210 a week. We buy most of our stuff at Wal Mart except meat and most produce. If we bought everything at the grocery store it would be $180 on food and supplies for a total of $240 a week.

Dining out is rare, perhaps a half dozen times a year. Fast food doesn't count as dining out but that's about twice a month and is less than $20 per occurrence.

I would spend, when spending, probably 30 to 50 on groceries alone per week.

I am pretty stringent when it comes to money. I am really good at budgeting it, and I only spend around $30 weekly. :)

That is really good. You should be teaching others how to budget. There is only my husband and I and our weekly expenses are probably about $200. We always try to cut back but it seems to be difficult to do so with the high cost of everything.

We don't spend much if at all. We get a lump sum of groceries to try and make it all last a couple of weeks or a month. But sometimes we have to buy diapers and wipes and gas so about $100 maybe.
