As you state the issue, no you are not bigoted. Not being attracted to is not bigotry in and of iteslf.

The question I thought of was:

If you had been attracted to, fallen in love with a woman but refused to marry her simply because she was of another race ... that might well show bigotry.

I believe there are both bigoted reasons here and also there are reasons that are not bigoted for deciding not to marry a person ... male/female ... of another race.

Life is seldom as simply as your question, at least to me, implies or assumes.

 

Hmmm, why do you not stay on the subject and respond to the OP. What is your opinion on the question in the OP?

 

wouldn't that just be to what was a preference for us? that a Bigot would be one who would say that its wrong for ANY white person to marry a black one?

Attraction is important. I didn't find many black women that I was attracted to but there were also a lot of white ones, brown ones, and yellow ones too. Now my wife, I found her attractive from the first moment that I saw her and still do twenty years later.

I would say that if you absolutly have no atraction to black women, then you are absolutly NOT a bigot.

On the other hand, if you found your self developing romatic feelings for a particular black woman, and you found yourself WANTING to marry her, and she felt the same about you, but you refuse because she is black...then you might have an ussue.

 

Well, like they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but If you’ve never seen a black woman that you would admit could be considered eye-candy to you then I’d say either you don’t get out much or you might have some kind of problem.

No, I do not believe one is bigoted if one was not attracted to black women. I have been married for 36 years so it does not really matter whether I would have been attracted, but surfice to say, there are lots of beautiful black women.

Having said that, it is disguisting to remember in the 50s and 60s, growing up in Mississippi listening to pastors giving sermons about unequally yoked based on physical appearance, such as a black white couple. One had to have much hatred in their heart to believe that, and wonder where their eternal destiny is as we speak?

I have a question based on the last point you made. If these pastors [and I don't assume you're limiting this line of thought to them only] had sin in their lives, namely hatred/prejudice, and you wonder about their eternal destiny, I suppose that must be because of sin of which they may have never repented. [Correct?] Well, there are others [obviously] for whom that may be true; such as, for one example, Martin Luther King, Jr., of whom there is evidence he was an adulterer. Do you wonder about his eternal destiny? And others-- most presidents or presidential candidates in times recent enough to remember, many-times-married celebrities, or a pastor who said he would step down if he ever divorced, then divorced and did not [Charles Stanley]?....
