Plan B does not terminate a pregnancy. It will have no effect on a woman who is pregnant. It does not prevent implantation (that's only been speculated). It releases a low level of hormones (levonorgestrel) that slows down ovulation and egg-release or/egg-sperm meeting in F. tube.

This preventing a woman's egg from being released is no different from a latex contraceptive preventing a man's seed from going where it is not wanted. It is not for daily contraceptive use. It will not work.

I have no problem with it.

RU-486 terminates existing pregnancies, but not Plan B.

Scarlet is absolutely correct. This is not an abortion-inducing drug. It is last minute contraception. It is not RU-486.

<Teenagers having sex shock horror!> If it stops the girl concerned getting pregnant and having an abortion, I'm all for it. Preventing teenagers having sex has far more to do with their environment (home, school, church, peer group(s)) than it does with the availability or otherwise of contraception.

A judge has no business making a call on this either way. Talk abut legislating from the bench.

Less unwed pregnancy is good. Just wish the most effective method, not having sex outside of marriage, would b the practice instead of taking a pill.

Quite so but I'm not sure what that has to do with the topic: here we are talking about trying to stop one wrong - fornication, which happens regardless of contraceptive availability, sadly - resulting in another - abortion. So it's actually about reducing two wrongs to one

By removing the consequences of one encourages the increased activity.

Well, according to RXList, it CAN prevent pregnancy:

Thus that is an abortifacient for those of us who believe that fertilization is when life begins.

Additionally, there are some strong precautions about the MAP that I seriously wonder if young women will take the time to read them and to speak to their doctors (many young women don't even HAVE a doctor). It is a medication that has side effects and can be dangerous for some women. I personally cannot take it as I have migraine syndrome. It is not a pill without consequences and I fear how many young women will just ignore birth control and use this when they feel like it thinking they are safe. I wonder what the long-term effects of taking this will be.

    :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Life begins at the moment of conception!

IMO, anything deliberately done afterwards to cause that baby to die is murder. Including blocking his or her path to nutrition by creating a non-receptive womb.

I agree. A child has a better chance if the home environment is as a Christian home should be. Parents lead by example and walk the walk, live the life. Most kids do in excess what their parents do in moderation on board line things.

    and why is that?

and while the judge is at it, he should rule that a child does NOT need parents permission to be given an asprin at school

and children should be allowed to buy cancer sticks,

and children should be allowed to buy dirty magzines......
