You certainly can't say that rap is useless!! What's great is that he targets a particular population that tends to fall for these kinds of "preachers" more easily (from my experience) and he knows that he needs to speak out on them. :)

The rapper is Shai Linne. He's a really great artist who is deeply devoted to Christ.

Since some of us seem unfamiliar with the contemporary terrain, Shai has been producing theologically rich songs for years now. If you swing over to iTunes you can look him up and see that he has a great discography with titles like "The Attributes of God", "The Solus Chrisus Project", and "The Atonement."

The song "Fal$e Teacher$" is extremely well done, and extremely important right now.

I don't know anyone in evangelical circles who would think the individuals mentioned are highly reputible minister of Jesus Christ. The most dangerous theological export over the past century is prosperity gospel. It is destroying authentic, biblical Christianity.

Shari's song is a prophetic voice in a community that is deeply enfranchised with these false teachers. I am certainly thankful for it.

Certainly there are those who don't like rap or urban or hip-hop music. However, this is the majority market for young adults between 20 - 35. There is a really awesome evangelical Resurrgence going on in hip-hop led by guys like Shai Linne, LeCrae, and others. God is being glorified and Christ exalted. We can be thankful for this.

I thank God for Shai. May his tribe increase. We need more young people like him. His response to Paula White's son showed a rare maturity and strong conviction that is needed today.
