Do you think that in the end, he will be reported as being the modern version of an Apostle Paul, so to speak?

I doubt that since his statement to Schuller. His crusades always sent saved Catholics back to the catholic church.

Was that when he was old, and perhaps having mental difficulties though?

I believe it goes back to the 50's or he started moving that way back then.

that would be my biggest problem with Him, as he refused to "call out" the errors/heresies within Chrsitiandom, and taught as if we all were holding to same things!

I've met some baptists (mainly IBF types and more recently the staunch reformed) that think he is the devil incarnate and other baptists who think he is the cat's meow. I do know that when he won the civilian medal of honor that he clearly preached the gospel to congress and to many others who were watching on TV and on the radio.

My question to all of you is, how many have you lead to Christ compared to him? How many needy people have you helped like the shoebox ministry of Franklin Graham? How many misstatements have you made in your life?

Anyway, back to the op, I think he is a man who has been used greatly by the Lord. He has made some errors, but then again, he is a flawed human being. He always has the cameras on him. It is easy to post here by a collection of nobodies that are not accountable to anyone.

IMO, Billy Graham ranks at the top of evangelists that used electronic media. Compare him to idiots like Robert Tilton, Jimmy Swaggart, Jim Bakker, Jerry Falwell, Ernest Angely, Oral Roberts, and Pat Robertson. Another pastor I greatly respected, although from another denomination, was D. James Kennedy.

    Imho....

....Billy Graham will be up there, in history, with the likes of Billy Sunday, Jack Hyles, DL Moody, Harry Ironsides, Lester Roloff and Dr. John Rice.

As for as the office of Apostle, if I am to believe like so many of you on the board believe, since the gifts of tongues and prophecy had their day, so is the right to call someone a Biblical Apostle.

In my heart, Billy will always be my mentor and a great man of God. It has been a privilege and a blessing to have lived in a day, and age where I had this great man of God available to see, hear and read while he was still on this earth.

As to his position of greatness, that is up to God. However, I am sure, without a doubt, that Billy, like the others mentioned in this post, will have a special place in heaven with rewards to be numerous to count or list.

    Shalom

    Oh...Wow! My, my, my, my...

...I can't believe that you can argue on one thread that a homosexual believer has the right to call themselves just that, while in turn you criticize Billy for not having the mettle to call out the "errors/heresies within Christiandom!"

You jump on those of us who have the courage to call out the errors of those allowing so called born-again believers to go by the title of Homosexual Christians, THAN you say Billy didn't have the guts to call out the "errors/heresies within Christiandom!"

It would seem that you are a little unbalanced, conflicted, and talking out of both sides of your spiritual mouth.

By the way, Billy once said this about homosexuals: "God loves the homosexual, but He hates the sin!"

You can't have it both ways. You jump down our spiritual throats for saying homosexuals, and Christians can't exist together [are we not just calling out the error of the world?], and then you criticize Billy for not calling out sin.

My, my, my, my...that sounds a wee bit hypocrital to me.

I really dont know, I am only thankful that the Lord is the just judge he is!

Though many were saved thu his ministry, I do beleive that many who came forward only signed a card and were sent back to their liberal churches.

The second paragraph is the answer to the question. If you do not like the first paragraph, maybe it is due to something referred to as a plank.

You are correct. I did not mean to put that name in the seven I mentioned. He was not a charlatan like the rest. Liberty University stands as a monument to his ministry. The other six or seven, I stand by what I said. To restore the original number, I will add Benny Hinn.

reread what I have posted, the bible teaches clearly that the Lord can and does save homosexuals, and once saved by his grace, they would be reqwuired by him to repent and forsake that behaviou and lifestyle...

Where you and I might disagree is that you might see it that they can never do that again, or else bot really saved, mine is that while they should immediantly stop, still might submit tothe tempations at times, but need to keep going forward and keep on walking with the lord after repenting and asking for fellowship restoration!

ansd whiel I respect Dr graham for being faithful to the Lord jesus, and his wife and family all thses yeras, can't help but think that he went too far to trying to make the catholic church/Charasmatics etc as being one with us in christiandom!

Well, I could say something, but since this is a public forum, I will not go into details. I will only say it was not Jerry personally, but one of his top aides who did me wrong; on behalf of the ministry.

Who has Billy ever baptized? Altar, not alter, calls are not a baptist invention.

I watched him in the '50s and '60s, when I was growing up. I found his preaching very impressive then, even though I was not a believer at the time. Looking back I think his sincerity had a lasting effect on me personally.

Listening to some of his old sermons on radio, or watching them on youtube nowadays, I hear him telling it like it is. Calling sinners to accept Christ Jesus, but also to repentance and the responsibilities that entails. I think he has a crown waiting for him when he gets there and he will hear, "Well done my faithful servant", for sure.

he was my favorite Christian to watch, befor even being saved!

Would sya that His greatest trait was that he kept it simple and to the point, that you get salvation thru christ, and him alone!
