I was reading a thread recently where there were several posters that happened to be in my Ignore List. Do you use the Ignore List? How many people are in your Ignore List?

Never used the ignore feature on any board that I've frequented over the years. While I know it isn't the same thing, there's something about using it that reminds me of limiting freedom of speech.

That said, sure wish we had "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" buttons for threads and posts within threads. That way, we could get a good idea of the opinions of those who read but don't post very often. A way for all of us to be more outspoken -- positive(agree)/negative (disagree) -- without hitting "quote" or "post reply".

It's a secular horse forum and trust me, I needed to ignore some people who are just antagonistic towards Christians. I tend to want to fight but I've learned it's not helpful with these people so best just to walk away and leave them in their ignorance and ignore them. :D

What ignore does is to just make the person's post hidden from you but there is a section there that tells you that they posted and you have the option to click to read the post. There as little similarity to limiting freedom of speech as you turning off the TV in the middle of the news.

I've never used the Ignore button, and don't plan to. Where is it, in case I do need it?

I have, as Ann, used the ignore on another site but not on this one. Different site than the one she spoke of but for the same reason.

Go to your User CP and then down on the left hand side, there is something about the Ignore List or something like that. :)

Hmmmm, why do I have a feeling those who have none (8 of them) are the ones IN CHARGE of this board or who go to a church of those who are in charge?

I mean if you are "IN CHARGE'...then you have all the power so you have no need to ignore...all you have to do is call on your pose to back you up and do what you can to get rid of the person.

So really this poll means nothing.

NOW LET THE ATTACKS ON ME BEGIN.....

So you want to poke people in the eye and then claim victim status in case they respond. This thread was peaceful until you came along.

I use the ignore list for those who want to send me ugly pm's. It keeps them from being able to do that.

It's still peaceful...just stating a fact, what is wrong with that?

Again I'm sorry if the TRUTH hurts....ignore me if you want. :tongue3:

Honestly, why the 'tude? You really have quite a chip on your shoulder.

I have no posse (it's spelled with two "s" characters, not one). I'm not in charge of anything here and there is only one member I've met in real life although I've spoken to a few on the phone as well.

But I have no need to ignore anyone here. Yes, some are annoying but that's not why I ignore people. I ignore when someone has an agenda against me and decide to attack anytime I post. Then I ignore them so I don't have to get angry and feel like I need to post back. It also reminds me that these people are particularly hostile towards me so if I read their post, it reminds me to tread carefully because it's not worth the fight.

I have several (no I won't give an exact number) in my list.

To be added to the list, well...man, you've gotta work at it. Still considering others.

    Yep.
The only person on here that I am sure I know outside of BB is Ann. I think there are a couple others but not certain of it.
