On my last visit here on BB I noticed an advertisement from Progressive Insurance..., accompanied with the picture of Flo, which we all recognize as the most helpful and lovable cashier.

Word had it that George Soros owned this company but in reality, he doesn't.

However, Peter Lewis is the Chairman of Progressive and is known as a 'political associate' of George Soros. Together they financially support way to many liberal causes.

They are both so liberal they squeak.

Soros maintains a philosophical outlook influenced by Karl Popper and Peter Lewis prides himself as a Philanthropist as he's filthy rich.

Neither are impressed with Christian Values.

pinoyB, you are most correct in your PM.

I wasn't my intent to blast the BB..., was taking aim at Progressive. Here's pretty little Flo projecting an image of "pure white" when the movers and shakers of this company are, like most corporations, motivated only by the money and their personal gain.

...consider a corporation such as, Chic' Fil A. They make money hand over fist but our Lord has blessed them.

I'll stick with Farm Bureau for my insurance and I'd probably be correct to assume their leadership is all about the money also. It's just the world we live in but one day, Praise the Lord..., we will be on a different playing field. Speaking of course on that thousand year Millennial Reign and the subsequent eternity. I can't wait.

Not when you must have it in order to obey the law.

Yes, that is what insurance is, planning for an unexpected event. Faith is trust in Jesus that no matter what, He will provide. Insurance is for and invented by an unbelieving world.

    I do trust in Jesus.
The insurance is to obey the law because we are told when we are harassed because we have done wrong (breaking the law IS wrong even if it is a dumb law) we deserve it and it is no glory for God.

In my state, it is required by law to have auto insurance. If not, you will lose your license.

You also cannot get a home loan unless your home is insured.

So I guess it's more Godly to have no car and only rent instead of own a home. How stupid.

Which means that you should not have a lease (only rent month-to-month) as a lease is "insurance" that you have a place to live.

Been working on a Bible study for awhile. Ties in to the Doomsday Preppers TV show. One of the arguements relating to this show is that being prepared is likened to a lack of trust in God. ie - all we have to do is trust God and He will provide.

So far, in doing background study, there are some 84 passages of scripture endorcing the concept of people helping themselves instead of sitting on their laurals and expecting God to do everything for them.

    Briefly a sampling of them.

Noah built the ark as flood insurance.
Joseph filled the grain bins as drought insurance.
The ant filled her pantry as winter insurance.
5 of the 10 virgins didn't prepare their lamps.

As a side note: There is no "doomsday" for those who have prepared to meet our Saviour. Between now and the time He calls us home, we are to do our part. He will provide the rest. Don't have the verse # handy - the one that says if you don't work, you don't eat.

So whether buying insurance or beans, neither diminishes our faith that He will provide. -- I go to prepare a place for you. --

2 Thessalonians 3:10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

According to pns, we probably shouldn't work either. God will rain money from the sky like manna!
