Im reading a paper done by Martyn Lloyd Jones about Welsh Calvinistic Methodism, where he states,

"The next thing I have to stress is the emphasis which they all placed on 'feeling'. They were very concerned about what Whitefield called a 'felt' Christ. They were not content with orthodoxy, correct belief; they wanted to 'feel' Him. They laid tremendous emphasis upon the place of feelings in our Christian experience."

You dont hear much about 'Experimental' religion & what George Whitefield called a 'felt' Christ. Is this considered good theology today?

Brother, many today in Charasmatic circles moved beyond "feeling" jesus to claiming to actual meet and hold conversations with him, where he gave them "revelation" knowledge!

My Brother, lets not bring the Charismatic movement into this. When I was arguing with Winman about how I was regenerated, I mentioned that the HS saved me prior to my ever believing or making any commitments to Christianity. Winnie was distraught & told me that could not happen & I was acting like a charismatic. However, my salvation story is real to me & I felt it dramatically. This is the 'FELT' I am referring to....it brings on assurance. :love2:

Well, I can say that I definetly do indeed know when God, through the ministry of the Holy Spirit, is dealing/teaching/ ministering/ in me.

I woudlnt call it a "feeling", but it is very real. It is tangible.

The closest that I come to "feeling" anything is when the HS propmts/convicts me to witness to a specific person, as at those times, there is a propmting so intense it gets to the point very uncomfortable the longer delay speaking to the other person!
