Came across a few blog postings from links on Challies.com and made me think, how "real" are we with people?

Yes, it reminds me of advertising like any other product. You bring out some very good points to ponder. Our church has never had a web site or advertising, so thanks for pointing these issues out, as I had never given them a second thought.

I was wondering if you would look at your icon and then mine, and tell me which one looks the most appealing? LOL

Brother, I've been trying to figure out what your's is since you changed it. I can't see it very clear, would guess its you know who holding up his arms in the air? I think it is you and Convicted1 (Willis) that joke about Looney Tunes, maybe a good Foghorn Leghorn icon would work?

Seriously though, What about our Lord and Savior?

Isaiah 53:2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

It is not a good picture, but will tell you what it is. Two years ago, my wife and I vistied the Nixon library in California. In the back of the library, is his helocopter he left the White House in when he resigned. I got to the top of the steps and made the double V sign like Nixon did, and my wife took a snap shot of it. My son got the picture of Nixon really doing it and put them side by side. LOL

I am sorry, but would you please explain to me what you mean "what about our Lord and Savior?" I would not do anything to my body to disrespect Him, if that is what you mean.

No I should have posted my thoughts seperately, I was just agreeing with you, and giving what the bible says about Christ's appearance, doesn't match up much with what we see depicted nor does it match up with the "marketing strategies" noted above.

Please pardon, but my first thought on reading the thread title was, "Yes, some here are genu-why-ne, some are genu-wine and some are genu-whine."

Thanks for the clarification. I was also responding to the tattoo thread, and got the thoughts mixed up. Your point is well taken.
